EL EVANGELIO ES SIEMPRE UNA BENDICIÓN, por Doyle Davidson Capítulo 7
Convertirnos de Nuestra Maldad
Dios le dijo a Abraham que en él todas las familias en la tierra serían bendecidas. Ahora voy a mostrarte como nosotros somos bendecidos. Mira lo que el apóstol Pedro dijo en Hechos 3:25-26:
25 Vosotros sois los hijos de los profetas y del pacto que Dios hizo con nuestros padres diciendo a Abraham: “En tu simiente serán benditas todas las familias de la tierra.”
26 A vosotros primeramente, Dios, habiendo levantado a su Hijo, lo envió para que os bendijera, a fin de que cada uno se convierta de su maldad.
Dios resucitó a Jesús y lo mandó para bendecirnos. Dios nos bendice al convertirnos a ti y a mí de nuestras perversidades y nuestras maldades. Hasta que Él nos convierta a ti y a mí de nuestras maldades, las bendiciones de Abraham no vendrán a nosotros. La razón por la iglesia es raramente bendecida es porque la gente cree que ellos pueden caminar en sus propias rectitudes y no en las rectitudes de Dios.
Mira en el verso 26 otra vez y ve porque tú debes bendecir a tus enemigos. Cuando bendices a tus enemigos, Dios los corrige y los convierte de sus maldades.
Jesús me enseñó años atrás en Lucas 6:28: “Bendecid a los que os maldicen y orad por los que os calumnian”. Yo dije: “¿Por qué? A ellos no les agrado”. Así que Él me enseñó que cuando tú bendices a tus enemigos, Él los convierte de sus ataques y de sus maldades. Ellos paran de dar lugar a los malos espíritus cuando tú empiezas a bendecirlos. Tú tendrás que aprender a bendecir a tus enemigos.
Es por eso que dedico mucho tiempo bendiciendo a la gente. Pocos días pasan que no bendigo a alguien. Y espero que todos ustedes me bendigan diariamente, tres o cuatro veces. Yo tampoco quiero ir en el camino equivocado.
Las Puertas de Sus Enemigos
Jesús nos bendice al apartarnos de nuestras maldades. Él nos bendice al adueñarnos de las puertas de Sus enemigos.
Mira en Génesis 22:15-17:
15 Llamó el ángel de Jehová a Abraham por segunda vez desde el cielo,
16 y le dijo: —Por mí mismo he jurado, dice Jehová, que por cuanto has hecho esto y no me has rehusado a tu hijo, tu único hijo,
17 de cierto te bendeciré y multiplicaré tu descendencia como las estrellas del cielo y como la arena que está a la orilla del mar; tu descendencia se adueñará de las puertas de sus enemigos.
En el verso 17 dice: “tu descendencia”, es decir, la descendencia de Abraham, “se adueñará de las puertas de sus enemigos”. Sus enemigos, no tuyos.
Continuemos con el verso 18:
18 En tus simientes serán benditas todas las naciones de la tierra, por cuanto obedeciste a mi voz.
Tú no puedes ser una bendición para nadie en la tierra si no obedeces la voz de Dios. Tú puedes predicar la Biblia desde la luz del día hasta la noche y aún así no obedecer la voz de Dios.
Mira otra vez en el verso 17:
… tu descendencia se adueñará (apoderarse de) de las puertas de sus enemigos.
En Gálatas 3:16, Pablo nos dice quién es la descendencia de Abraham, es decir, quien va apoderarse de las puertas de sus enemigos;
16 Ahora bien, a Abraham fueron hechas las promesas, y a su descendencia. No dice: «Y a los descendientes», como si hablara de muchos, sino como de uno: «Y a tu descendencia», la cual es Cristo.
Combina Gálatas 3:16 con Génesis 22:17 y tú verás que Jesús es el descendiente y que Jesús se adueñará de las puertas de sus enemigos. Y eso fue exactamente lo que Él hizo el día en que fue resucitado de entre los muertos. Él destruyó las obras de satanás.
Atacar las puertas del Infierno (Hades)
Jesús se adueñó de las puertas de Sus enemigos cuando Él fue resucitado de entre los muertos. No solamente se adueñó de las puertas de Sus enemigos, sino que Él nos prometió que las puertas del infierno no prevalecerían contra Su iglesia.
En Mateo 16:13-18, Jesús y Sus discípulos habían llegado a Cesárea de Filipo, y Él les preguntó:
13 Al llegar Jesús a la región de Cesárea de Filipo, preguntó a sus discípulos, diciendo:—¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del hombre?
14 Ellos dijeron:—Unos, Juan el Bautista; otros, Elías; y otros, Jeremías o alguno de los profetas.
15 Él les preguntó:—Y vosotros, ¿quién decís que soy yo?
16 Respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo:—Tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Dios viviente.
17 Entonces le respondió Jesús: —Bienaventurado eres, Simón, hijo de Jonás, porque no te lo reveló carne ni sangre, sino mi Padre que está en los cielos.
18 Y yo también te digo que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta roca edificaré mi iglesia, y las puertas del Hades no la dominarán.
¿Por qué las puertas del infierno (Hades) no la dominarán? Porque cuando le fue predicado el evangelio a Abraham, Dios le dijo que su descendencia, Jesús, se adueñaría de Sus enemigos.
Jesús se adueñará de las enfermedades. Él se adueñará de la pobreza. Él se adueñará de la duda. Él se adueñará de la incredulidad. Él se adueñará de cualquier espíritu de brujería. Y no puede prevalecer contra Él.
Te das cuenta, Jesús dijo: “prevalecer contra”. “Prevalecer contra” me dice que tú estás en el ataque. Tú tienes que atacar al demonio. Tú tienes que atacar las puertas del infierno. Tú no puedes cruzarte de brazos, sentarte y ser religioso. Tú tienes que luchar en la guerra. Tú tienes que atacar a Satanás. Tú tienes que presionar en el Espíritu de Dios. Si es que quieres al demonio fuera de tú vida, tú tienes que tomar autoridad sobre él y echarlo lo fuera.
La intención de Dios es que tú y yo atacáramos las puertas del infierno. El tormento es el infierno. El miedo es tormento. Cualquier cosa en esta tierra que nos trae miedo y tormento es del demonio. Todas las enfermedades y dolencias son del diablo. La iglesia haría bien en creer eso.
Los predicadores de los Estados Unidos de América predican que un buen cristiano puede estar enfermo. Jesús dijo en Lucas 18:19: “Nadie es bueno, sino sólo Dios”. La única razón por la que los cristianos se enferman y permanecen enfermos es porque ellos no creen que Dios los sano. ¡Es muy sencillo!
Tú puedes predicar lo que quieras. Tú puedes condenar e intimidar a la gente, pero tú no puedes intimidar a Jesús. Él se ríe de ti día y noche, porque tú eres un predicador tonto cuando predicas que las enfermedades pueden ser de Dios. No hay tal cosa escrita en el evangelio.
Contrarío a la Paz y la Piedad
Cuando por primera vez leí Mateo 16 y oí a la gente decir: “Tú tienes que ordenar al demonio salir de tu vida; tú tienes que amarrar al demonio”, era como si ellos estuvieran hablándome con palabras vacías. Yo pensaría: “¿Por qué querrías amarrar al demonio? ¿Quién es él?
¡Mi impresión del diablo era, que él era un hombre en traje rojo con cuernos! Yo pensaba: “¿Cómo es que esa criatura pueda ser tan eficaz contra alguien?”
Mi mente estaba tan enredada con conocimiento de medicina que pensé: “¿Por qué querrías amarrar al demonio? Dale un poco de estreptomicina o penicilina o tetraciclina”. Dios tuvo que librarme de las ataduras de este mundo, para que yo pudiera ver que el demonio era el enemigo quien producía enfermedades, dolores, confusión, pobreza, conflictos, tornados, guerras, terremotos y cualquier cosa que es contraria a la paz y la piedad.
La Biblia nos dice que la descendencia de Abraham se adueñará de Sus enemigos. Jesús se adueñará del cáncer y enfermedades cardiacas. Apoderarse de. Levantarlo. Tomarlo y restaurar con un nuevo tejido. Si tiene Él que hacerlo, Él pondrá un nuevo corazón.
El Cuarto de las Partes de Repuesto
Una vez alguien me dijo que una persona que fue al cielo vio el cuarto de las partes de repuesto. Nunca había oído algo tan ridículo. Dios crea cosas de la nada. Si Él quiere hacer un corazón para ti, Él no tiene que traer un corazón de repuesto del cielo.
La gente dice historias como esta para que alguien escuche sus testimonios: “Bueno, he estado en el cielo y vi el cuarto de las partes de repuesto”. Me alegro que Dios me diera sentido de humor.
Yo no creo que Dios tenga un cuarto de las partes de repuesto. Un cuarto de las partes de repuesto no es una bendición. Y el evangelio es siempre una bendición.

Chapter 7
Turn Us From Our Iniquities
God told Abraham that in him all families of the earth would be blessed. Now I am going to show you how we are blessed. Look at what the apostle Peter said in Acts 3:25-26:
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed (v. 25).
Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities (v. 26).
God raised up Jesus and sent Him to bless us. God blesses us by turning you and me from our perversities and our iniquities. Until He turns us from our iniquities, the blessings of Abraham will never come upon us. The reason the church is rarely blessed is that people believe they can walk in their own righteousness and not in the righteousness of God.
Look at verse 26 again and see why you should bless your enemies. When you bless your enemies, God corrects them and turns them from their iniquities.
Jesus taught me years back from Luke 6:28: "Bless those that curse you. Pray for those that despitefully use you." I said, "Why? They do not like me." So He showed me that when you bless your enemies, He turns them from their attack and from their iniquities. They stop yielding to evil spirits when you start blessing them. You will have to learn to bless your enemies.
That is why I spend so much time blessing people. Few days go by that I do not bless someone. And I hope all of you bless me every day--three or four times. I do not want to be going the wrong way, either.
The Gate of His Enemies
Jesus blesses us by turning us from our iniquities. He blesses us by possessing the gate of His enemies.
Look at Genesis 22:15-17:
And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time (v. 15),
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son (v. 16):
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies (v. 17);
Verse 17 says: "Thy seed"--that is, the seed of Abraham--"shall possess the gate of his enemies." His enemies, not yours.
Continue with verse 18:
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
You cannot be a blessing to anyone in the earth if you are not obeying the voice of God. You can preach the Bible from daylight until dark and still not obey the voice of God.
Look again at verse 17:
...Thy seed shall possess (take possession of) the gate of his enemies.
In Galatians 3:16, Paul tells us who the seed of Abraham is--that is, who is going to possess the gate of his enemies:
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Combine Galatians 3:16 with Genesis 22:17, and you will see that Jesus is the seed and that Jesus shall possess the gate of the enemy. And that is exactly what He did on the day He was raised from the dead. He destroyed the works of the devil.
Attack the Gates of Hell
Jesus possessed the gate of His enemies when He was raised from the dead. Not only did Jesus possess the gate of His enemies, but He promised us that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church.
In Matthew 16:13-18, Jesus and His disciples had come into Caesarea Philippi, and He asked them:
Whom do men say that I the Son of man am (v. 13)?
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets (v. 14).
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am (v. 15)?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God (v. 16).
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven (v. 17).
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (v. 18).
Why will the gates of hell not prevail? Because when Abraham had the gospel preached to him, God told him that his seed--Jesus--would take possession of His enemies.
Jesus will possess sickness. He will possess poverty. He will possess doubt. He will possess unbelief. He will possess any spirit of witchcraft. And it cannot prevail against Him.
Notice, Jesus said, "prevail against." "Prevail against" tells me that you are on the attack. You have to attack the devil. You have to attack the gates of hell. You cannot cross your arms and sit down and be religious. You have to war a warfare. You have to attack Satan. You have to press into the Spirit of God. If you want the devil out of your life, you have to take authority over him and command him out.
God intended for you and me to attack the gates of hell. Torment is hell. Fear is torment. Anything on this earth that brings fear and torment is of the devil. All sickness and disease is of the devil. The church would do well to believe that.
Preachers in the United States of America preach that good Christians can get sick. Jesus said in Luke 18:19: "None is good, save one, that is, God." The only reason Christians get sick and stay sick is because they do not believe God heals. It is that simple!
You can preach what you want to. You can condemn and intimidate people, but you cannot intimidate Jesus. He laughs at you day and night, because you are a foolish preacher when you preach that sickness can be of God. There is no such thing written in the gospel.
Contrary to Peace and Godliness
When I first read Matthew 16 and heard people say, "You have to command the devil out of your life; you have to bind the devil," it was as if they were speaking empty words to me. I would think, "Why would you want to bind the devil? Who is he?"
My impression of the devil was that he was a man in a red suit with horns! I would think, "How could that creature be so effective against anyone?"
My mind was so entangled with medical knowledge that I thought, "Why would you want to bind the devil? Give him some streptomycin or penicillin or tetracycline." God had to deliver me from the bondages of this world so I could see that the devil was the enemy who produced sickness and disease and confusion and poverty and strife and tornadoes and wars and earthquakes and anything else that is contrary to peace and godliness.
The Bible tells us that Abraham's seed shall possess His enemies. Jesus shall possess cancer and heart disease. Take possession of it. Lift it up. Take it out and restore it with new tissue. If He has to, He will put in a new heart.
Spare Parts Room
Someone once told me about a person who went to heaven and saw the spare parts room. I have never heard anything so ridiculous. God creates things from nothing. If He wants to make a heart in you, He does not have to bring a spare heart from heaven.
People tell stories like that so someone will listen to their testimony: "Well, I have been to heaven, and I saw the spare parts room." I am glad God gave me a sense of humor.
I do not believe that God has a spare parts room. A spare parts room is not a blessing. And the gospel is always a blessing.
