Isus Pe Cruce
Acum mergeți la Matei 27:39-46. Acestea sunt evenimentele care au avut loc când a fost Isus pe cruce:
Cei ce treceau pe acolo Îl insultau, dădeau din cap (v. 39),
şi ziceau: Tu, Cel Care dărâmi Templul şi-l reconstruieşti în trei zile, salvează-Te pe Tine Însuţi, dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, dă-Te jos de pe cruce (v. 40).
Tot aşa Îl batjocoreau şi conducătorii preoţilor, împreună cu cărturarii şi bătrânii, zicând (v. 41),
Pe alţii i-a salvat, dar pe Sine Însuşi nu Se poate salva! Dacă este Împăratul lui Israel, să se coboare acum de pe cruce şi vom crede în El (v. 42).
S-a încrezut în Dumnezeu, să-L scape acum Dumnezeu dacă vrea! Căci a zis: Eu sunt Fiul lui Dumnezeu (v. 43).
La fel Îl batjocoreau şi tâlharii care erau răstigniţi împreună cu El (v. 44).
De la ceasul al şaselea şi până la ceasul al nouălea s-a făcut întuneric peste toată ţara (v. 45).
Şi pe la ceasul al nouălea, Isus a strigat cu glas tare: Eli, Eli, lema sabactani? care înseamnă „Dumnezeul Meu, Dumnezeul Meu, de ce M-ai părăsit?“ (v. 46)?
Isus A Fost Batjocorit
Versetul 39 începe:
Cei ce treceau pe acolo Îl insultau, dădeau din cap,
Trecătorii își băteau joc de El, Îl ocărau și Îl vorbeau de rău. În Psalmi 11:2, psalmistul spune că cei înșelători au aruncat cu săgeți direct în inima Sa. Psalmi 64:3 spune că lucrătorii nelegiuirii își aruncau săgețile, chiar cuvinte aspre, în secret, la țintă. Aici, trecătorii Îl batjocoreau pe Isus în mod deschis.
Dă-te Jos De Pe Cruce
Versetul 40 continuă:
şi ziceau: Tu, Cel Care dărâmi Templul şi-l reconstruieşti în trei zile, salvează-Te pe Tine Însuţi, dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, dă-Te jos de pe cruce (v. 40).
Vreau ca voi să vedeți tentația prin care a trecut Isus și Duhul pe care acest om îl are. El a pus Duhul Său în noi. El, care este unit cu Domnul este un singur Duh.
Poporul a spus "... dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, dă-Te jos de pe cruce." Ar fi putut să se dea jos de pe cruce dacă ar fi vrut. El era Fiul lui Dumnezeu, așa cum au spus.
Când Petru și-a scos sabia și a tăiat urechea servitorului marelui preot, Isus i-a spus că cel care trăiește pentru sabie va pieri de sabie. El i-a spus lui Petru și celorlalți ucenici că ar putea să se roage Tatălui pentru o legiune de doisprezece îngeri și că Tatăl i-ar trimite. El a avut această autoritate, dar nu a folosit-o.
Dacă nu ar fi vrut, Isus nu ar fi ajuns niciodată pe cruce. Dar El a ales să facă voia Tatălui. În Matei 26:39, El se roagă "Tată, dacă este posibil, să fie îndepărtat de la Mine paharul acesta! Totuşi, nu cum vreau Eu, ci cum vrei Tu!"
Isus A Avut O Poruncă
De ce nu și-ar fi folosit Isus autoritatea și abilitatea? Fiindcă El a avut o poruncă de la Dumnezeu, Tatăl.
În Ioan 10:17-18, Isus a spus fariseilor că El a avut o poruncă de la Tatăl -- că El i-a dat viața și că El ar putea să o ia din nou. Niciun om nu ar putea să Îi ia viața Sa.
Isus a spus că El și-a oferit viața și că El poate să renunțe la ea. În Ioan 2:19 El le-a spus oamenilor religioși, "Dărâmaţi acest Templu, şi în trei zile îl voi ridica!"
Isus a avut atât de multă credință. El știa că va fi înviat din morți. El nu a mers pe cruce așteptându-se să rămână mort și să rămână în iad. El a mers pe cruce știind că El va învia.

Jesus On The Cross
Now, turn to Matthew 27:39-46. These are the events that took place when Jesus was on the cross:
And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads (v. 39),
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross (v. 40).
Likewise also the chief priest mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said (v. 41),
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him (v. 42).
He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God (v. 43).
The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in His teeth (v. 44).
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour (v. 45).
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (v. 46)?
Jesus Was Mocked
Verse 39 begins:
And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
The passers-by mocked Him, reviling Him and speaking evil against Him. In Psalm 11:2, the psalmist says that the wicked shoot at the upright in heart. Psalm 64:3 says that the workers of iniquity shoot their arrows, even bitter words, in secret at the perfect. Here, the passers-by reviled Jesus openly.
Come Down From the Cross
Verse 40 continues:
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
I want you to see the temptation that Jesus went through, and the Spirit that the man has. He put His Spirit in us. He that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit.
The people said, “…If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.” He could have come down from the cross if He wanted to. He was the Son of God, exactly as they said.
When Peter took out His sword and cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant, Jesus told him that he who lives by the sword shall perish by the sword. He told Peter and the rest of the disciples that He could pray to the Father for twelve legions of angels, and the Father would send them. He had that authority. He had that ability, but He did not use it.
If Jesus had wanted to, He would never have gone to the cross. But He chose to do the Father’s will. In Matthew 26:39, He prayed, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”
Jesus Had a Commandment
Why wouldn’t Jesus use His authority and ability? Because He had a commandment from God, the Father.
In John 10:17-18, Jesus told the Pharisees that He had a commandment from the Father—that He lay His life down, that He might take it again. No man could take His life from Him.
Jesus said that He would lay His life down, and that He would take it up. In John 2:19, He told the religious people, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Jesus had that much faith. He knew that He would be raised from dead. He did not go to the cross expecting to remain dead and stay in hell. He went to the cross knowing that he would rise again.
