La Muerte, El Entierro, y Resurrección

Mientras crecía en la iglesia y hasta el día de hoy, muchos de nosotros hemos oído a los predicadores decir: "Ahora voy a predicar el evangelio". El hecho es que ellos no están predicando el evangelio en absoluto.

Yo estaba muy asombrado hace 17 o 18 años , cuando yo vi que el evangelio está definido en 1 Corintios 15:1-4, así como fe está definida en Hebreos 11:1.

Ve la definición del evangelio en 1 Corintios 15:1-4:

1 Además os declaro, hermanos, el evangelio que os he predicado, el cual también recibisteis, en el cual también perseveráis;

2 por el cual asimismo, si retenéis la palabra que os he predicado, sois salvos, si no creísteis en vano.

3 Primeramente os he enseñado lo que asimismo recibí: Que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados, conforme a las Escrituras;

4 que fue sepultado y que resucitó al tercer día, conforme a las Escrituras;

Estos versos se oponen a lo que tú y yo hemos oído en la iglesia y encontramos que son difíciles de creer.

¿Qué es lo que Pablo actualmente en realidad dice, cuando él expresa: "Además os declaro, hermanos, el evangelio [la muerte, el entierro y la resurrección del Señor Jesucristo]"?

Te Declaro el Evangelio

Examinemos el verso 1:

Además te declaro, hermanos, el evangelio que te he predicado...

Pablo predicó el evangelio.

... el cual también recibiste,...

Pablo predicó y la gente lo recibió.

Notas que fue lo que pasó:

... en el cual también perseveráis;

Todo el mundo dice: "¡Ah gloria! Estamos perseverando en el evangelio". Lee el verso 2, pero:

Por lo cual también estas salvado, si...

¿Puedes creer qué la palabra "si" está asociada con "salvado"?

Continuemos leyendo en el verso 2:

... si retenéis la palabra que os he predicado, sois salvos, si no creísteis en vano.

¿Esto te suena a "una vez a salvo, siempre salvado"?

¿Qué fue lo que Pablo predicó a los Corintios? Él predicó el evangelio: la muerte, el entierro y la resurrección de Jesucristo. Él lo recibió primero, entonces él lo predicó. Ellos lo recibieron. Ellos perseveraron, si ellos retienen en memoria, o aferrarte a lo que ellos creen.

Aferrarte a lo Que Tú Crees

En los Estados Unidos, tú puedes preguntarle a la gente: "¿Has nacido de nuevo?" Ellos contestan: "Espero que sí". Tú preguntas, "¿Eres salvo?" Ellos contestan: "Eso creo. Espero que sí. Yo fui a una campaña en 1964 y pasé al enfrenté".

Bueno, mi amigo, no has sido salvado. O, si tú lo fuiste, ya no eres porque tú no te aferraste a lo que creíste cuando pasaste al frente. Eso es lo que 1 Corintios 15:2 dice.

Yo sé que esto escandaliza a los americanos religiosos. Pero el hombre que dice: "Espero que sí" o "Yo pensé que lo hice" no es salvo. Yo he conocido a muchos con "Espero que sí" o "Yo pensé que lo hice".

Yo sé que esto va a alterar algunas plumas religiosas. Sin embargo, tenemos que creer en la verdad. Si vamos a predicar el evangelio al mundo, debemos creer lo que la Biblia dice. Entonces, la gente puede ser salvada por medio del evangelio.

The Death, Burial, and Resurrection While growing up in church, and even until today, many of us have heard preachers say, “Now I am going to preach the gospel.” The fact is that they are not preaching the gospel at all. I was greatly amazed some 17 or 18 years ago when I saw that the gospel is defined in I Corinthians 15:1-4, just as faith is defined in Hebrews 11:1. Look at the definition of the gospel in I Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand (v. 1); By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain (v. 2). For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures (v. 3); And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (v. 4). These verses are so opposed to what you and I have heard in church that we find them difficult to believe. What is Paul actually saying when he says, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel [the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ]”? I Declare Unto You the Gospel Examine verse 1: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,... Paul preached the gospel. ...which also ye have received,... Paul preached, and the people received. Notice what happened: ...and wherein ye stand; Everyone says, “Oh glory! We stand in the gospel.” Read verse 2, however: By which also ye are saved, if... Can you believe the word “if” is associated with “saved”? Continue reading verse 2: ...if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. Does this sound like “once saved, always saved”? What did Paul preach to the Corinthians? He preached the gospel — the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He received it first, then he preached it to them. They received it. They stand in it, if they keep in memory, or hold fast to, what they believe. Hold Fast to What You Believe In the United States, you can ask people, “Are you born again?” They reply, “I hope so.” You ask, “Are you saved?” They answer, “I think so. I hope I am. I went to a crusade in 1964 and went forward.” Well my friend, you were not saved. Or, if you were saved, you are no longer saved because you do not hold fast to what you believed when you went forward. That is what I Corinthians 15:2 says. I know this is shocking to American religionists. But a man who says, “I hope so” or “I thought I did,” was not saved. I have met many “hope so’s” and “thought I did’s”.

I know this is going to ruffle some of our religious feathers. However, we must believe the truth. If we are going to preach the gospel to the world, we must believe what the Bible says. Then, people can be saved through the gospel.
