El Evangelio Con Autoridad Y Poder
En capítulos anteriores, hemos visto que Jesús predicó la Palabra, el evangelio con autoridad y poder. Él mandó a los espíritus inmundos que salieran y ellos salieron. Ahora, quiero que veas Mateo 28:18:
18 Jesús se acercó y les habló diciendo: «Toda potestad [autoridad o privilegio] me es dada en el cielo y en la tierra.
La autoridad de Dios te debe ser dada, a ti antes de que pongas tú Biblia en la maleta y te vayas a predicar a todas las naciones.
Además, Jesús dijo en Lucas 24:49 que tú no puedes predicar " hasta que seáis investidos de poder [habilidad] desde lo alto". Cuando tú estas investido de poder, tienes la habilidad del Espíritu Santo.
Sólo La Autoridad No Es Suficiente
Tú debes de tener las dos, autoridad y habilidad con tu predicación. Si tú tienes autoridad solamente, el demonio se burlará de ti. Él te dirá: "Esta es mi casa".
Al principio, yo tenía solamente autoridad. Dios me estaba dirigiendo en Su habilidad, de igual manera de cómo él me enseñaba Sus caminos.
Antes que el poder de Dios (Su habilidad), fue demostrada en mi vida, yo no sabía cómo manejar los demonios. Ordenaba a un demonio que saliera y me decía: "Esta es mi casa. No voy a salir de aquí". Simplemente estaba ahí con la mirada fija. Yo no sabía que más hacer. Yo dije: "Dios, ¿Qué vas hacer con estos demonios?"
Una noche pasé seis horas tratando de sacar los demonios de una mujer. No creo que los eché fuera. Yo simplemente los alboroté, como a un montón de abejas. ¡Ellos también picaban! Yo estaba tan cansado que me fui a la cama. Pensé: " Esto es perder el tiempo. Yo no puedo echar fuera a los demonios". Pero, Gloria a Dios, Él nos enseñará la manera cuando nosotros caminemos con Él.
El Poder del Espíritu Santo
Nosotros debemos de tener autoridad y poder para predicar el evangelio. ¿De dónde proviene el poder? El poder viene del Espíritu Santo. Mira en Hechos 1:8:
8 pero recibiréis poder [habilidad] cuando haya venido sobre vosotros el Espíritu Santo, y me seréis testigos en Jerusalén, en toda Judea, en Samaria y hasta lo último de la tierra.
Tú recibes poder, la habilidad de Dios, después de que el Espíritu Santo venga a ti, después de que tú seas bautizado en el Espíritu Santo.
Tú debes saber que tú tienes autoridad sobre el demonio si quieres echarlo fuera. Tú también debes de tener la habilidad del Espíritu Santo operando en ti para echar fuera al demonio. Es el Espíritu Santo quien echa fuera al demonio. No eres tú ni yo.
Es muy agradable cuando aprendes a caminar en el Espíritu y dejas que Él te guie. Tú sabes que tienes autoridad y tú caminas en ese privilegio. Entonces el Espíritu de Dios se levantará dentro de ti y tú te sentirás como un gigante de fe. No estoy bromeando. Te sentirás como 170 libras (77kg) de fe. (Eso es lo que yo peso).
Sólo esperas que haya un demonio enfrente de ti. El poder de Dios está buscando demonios. Cuando Él ve a un demonio en una persona, el demonio gritará y tirará a la persona. Entonces el demonio saldrá. Después que la unción y la habilidad te dejan, tú simplemente pesas 170 libras(77kg).
Al leer Hechos 1:8, yo pensé: " ¡Esto debió haber sido una locura!" Entonces, la primera vez que yo experimenté el poder del Espíritu Santo en la iglesia, no sabía qué hacer. Yo pensé que era increíble. Me preguntaba si iba a ser consumido.
Caminé alrededor de la iglesia y cuando me acerqué como a cuatro o cinco pies (uno y medio metros) de alguien con un demonio, el demonio salía gritando y rugiendo. Eso es el amor de Dios. Eso es el evangelio del reino de Dios.
¿Qué es lo se ha hecho en la iglesia? Los predicadores dicen: "Yo quiero que vengan al frente y se formen. ¡Fórmense aquí! Voy a poner mis manos en todos ustedes. En el nombre de Jesús, mandaré al demonio que se vaya y él se irá. Ahora tú serás libre". Y nada pasa. Ningún poder es demostrado.
Bien, eso es lo que ellos hacen. Los predicadores se van y el demonio se queda. No podía entender eso. Yo pensé: " ¿Qué es esto? Todos aquellos que han sido testigos de esto, saben de lo que estoy hablando.
La gente ha venido a mi y dice: "Yo he tenido a todos estos predicadores que han orado por mí. Ahora voy a darte una oportunidad a ti". Ellos empezaron con Hagin, Schambach y todos los ministerios grandes. Yo les pregunté: "Bueno, ¿Qué es lo que estás haciendo aquí conmigo?"
Cuando el Espíritu Santo echa fuera a un demonio fuera de la persona, enfrente de tus ojos, tú encontrarás que no hay diferencia quienes han orado por ellos. Lo que importa es que el Espíritu de Dios está operando a través de ti. No estoy interesado en que línea de oración has estado.
Si Dios te envía a mí para orar por ti, tú vas a ser liberado. Si tú vienes simplemente porque has oído que echo fuera demonios, yo no voy a orar por ti. Ya he parado eso.
Dios me dijo: "Tú no oras por la gente a menos que yo te diga que ores. Tú no pongas las manos en la gente a menos que yo te diga que pongas las manos". Yo no conozco a nadie en el país que fuera tan cauteloso como yo.
Una vez estuve escuchando a Norvel Hayes. Él dijo que Kathryn Kuhlman protegía sus dones mejor que nadie, que él haya visto. Él dijo que no podías hacer a esa mujer orar por ti si ella no quería orar.
Yo dije: "¡Gracias a Dios! Ese es el Espíritu de Dios en mi, diciéndome que no ponga las manos en cualquiera". Alabo a Dios por lo que Norvel Hayes dijo acerca de Kathryn Kuhlman protegiendo sus dones.
Yo la observe una vez que estuve en sus servicios. Ella escogía sólo a ciertos individuos para orar. En los Estados Unidos, los predicadores dicen: "¡Quiero que llenen toda esta pared! Vengan aquí, vamos a poner aceite y las manos en todos ustedes".
Si Dios te dijo que pusieras las manos en cada uno, está bien. Si tú lo haces solamente por agradar a la gente, entonces no está bien.
Cuando el Espíritu de Dios está operando en ti, te puedes sentar, parar o hacer cualquier otra cosa que quieras y miras el Poder de Dios manifestarse. Es muy divertido. Es muy fácil observar a Dios sanar a la gente.
Estaba orando por un hombre una noche. Él tenía dos vertebras que estaban dañadas y deterioradas. Los doctores querían fundirlas con cirugía. Yo me senté en un silla. Yo le dije al hombre: "Siéntate en esta silla. Yo quiero orar por ti".
Empecé a orar y de repente el Espíritu de Dios le pego en medio y lo sacudió. Él dijo: "Ah, algo tronó dentro de mí, algo de en medio de mi se movió a un lado".
Yo dije: "Párate y dóblate". Él se paró, dobló y no sintió dolor. Dios reparó dos vertebras en él, cuando estaba sentado en la silla.
Solamente eso me ha pasado algunas veces. Eso fue lo más divertido que he visto. Dios simplemente movió su espalda y la puso en la posición correcta. Dios es el mejor quiropráctico que puedas conocer. Bueno, ¡Él es! Él puede hacer cualquier cosa. ¡Cualquier cosa!
He visto a Dios tomar a la gente y girarlos en diferentes direcciones. Una noche en nuestra misión, yo vi que Él tomó a una mujer y giró su brazo hacia atrás y hacia enfrente hasta que su brazo estaba extendido. Yo pensé: "Dios, vas a dañar el brazo de esta mujer. Ese brazo girará hasta cierto punto de distancia".
Y yo dije: "Doyle, es mejor que dejes en paz a Dios. Él sabe cómo tratar los brazos de la gente". Lo que Dios hizo fue increíble. El brazo de la mujer fue completamente sanado.
Recuerda, tú tienes la autoridad, el privilegio, en predicar el evangelio. Pero, debes ser sabio. No vayas a cualquier lado a predicar el evangelio hasta que tengas el poder del Espíritu Santo en ti.

The Gospel With Authority And Power
In previous chapters, we have seen that Jesus preached the Word—the gospel—with authority and power. He commanded unclean spirits to come out, and they came out. Now, I want you to see Matthew 28:18:
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power [authority or privilege] is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
The authority of God must be given to you before you put your Bible in a suitcase and depart to preach to all nations.
In addition, Jesus said in Luke 24:49 that you are not to preach “until ye be endued with power [ability] from on high.” When you are endued with power, you have the ability of the Holy Spirit.
Authority Only Is Not Enough
You must have both authority and ability with your preaching. If you have authority only, the devil will mock you. He will say, “This is my house.”
In the beginning, I had authority only. God was leading me into His ability, however, and teaching me His ways.
Before God’s power—His ability—was demonstrated in my life, I did not know how to handle demons. I would command a demon to depart, and it would say, “This is my house. I am not going to come out of here.”
I would simply stand there and stare. I did not know what else to do. I said, “God, what are you going to do with these demons?”
I spent six hours one night trying to cast the demons out of a woman. I do not think I ever cast them out. I merely stirred them up — like a bunch of bees. They did sting, too! I was so tired that I went to bed. I thought, “This is a waste of time. I cannot cast out demons.” But, praise God, He will teach us His ways as we walk with Him.
The Power of the Holy Spirit
We must have authority and power to preach the gospel. Where does the power come from? The power comes from the Holy Spirit. Look at Acts 1:8:
But ye shall receive power [ability], after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
You receive power—the ability of God—after the Holy Spirit is come upon you — after you are baptized in the Holy Spirit.
You must know that you have authority over the devil if you want to cast him out. You must also have the ability of the Holy Spirit operating in you to cast the devil out. It is the Holy Spirit who casts out the devil. It is not you and I.
It is so nice when you learn to walk in the Spirit and let Him lead you. You know that you have the authority, and you walk in that privilege. Then the Spirit of God will rise up inside you, and you will feel like a faith giant. I am not kidding you. You feel like 170 pounds of faith. (That happens to be what I weigh.)
You only hope that there is a devil in front of you. The power of God is searching for demons. When He sees a demon in a person, that demon will scream and throw the person down. Then the devil comes out. After the anointing and the ability leave you, you merely weigh 170 pounds of nothing.
As I read Acts 1:8, I would think, “This must have been wild!” Then, the first time I experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in church, I did not know what to do. I thought it was incredible. I wondered if I were going to be consumed.
I walked around the church, and when I got within four or five feet of someone with a demon, the demon would come out screaming and roaring. That is the love of God. That is the gospel of the kingdom of God.
What is being done in the church? Preachers say, “I want you all to come up here and line up. Line up here! I am going to lay my hands on all of you. In Jesus’ name, I will command the devil to go, and he will be gone. Now you will be free.” And nothing happens. No power is demonstrated.
Well, that is what they do. The preacher leaves, and the devil stays. I could not understand that. I thought, “What is this?” All of you who have witnessed this know what I am talking about.
People have come to me and said, “I have had all of these preachers pray for me. Now I am going to give you a chance.” They started with Hagin and Schambach and all of the big ministries. I asked them, “Well, what are you doing here with me?”
When the Holy Ghost casts the devil out of people right in front of your eyes, you will find out that it does not make any difference who they have had praying for them. What matters is the Spirit of God operating through you. I am not interested in whose prayer line you have been in.
If God sends you to me for prayer, you are going to be set free. If you come merely because you have heard I cast out devils, I am not even going to pray for you. I have stopped that.
God told me, “You do not pray for people unless I tell you to pray. You do not lay hands on people unless I tell you to lay hands.” I did not know anyone in the country that was as cautious as I was.
Once I was listening to Norvel Hayes. He said that Kathryn Kuhlman protected her gifts better than anyone he had ever seen. He said that you could not make that woman pray for you if she did not want to pray.
I said, “Thank God! That is the Spirit of God in me telling me not to lay hands on everyone.” I praise God for what Norvel Hayes said about Kathryn Kuhlman protecting her gifts.
I watched her once at one of her meetings. She would pick only certain individuals for prayer. In the United States, the preachers say, “I want you to fill this wall! Come up here, and we are going to put oil on you and lay hands on all of you.”
If God tells you to lay hands on everyone, that is fine. If you do it just to please people, then it is not fine.
When the Spirit of God is operating in you, you can sit down, stand up, or do anything else you want, and watch the power of God manifest. It is so much fun. It is so easy to watch God heal people.
I was praying for a man one night. He had two vertebrae that had been damaged and were deteriorating. The physicians wanted to fuse them surgically. I sat down in a chair. I said to the man, “Sit down in this chair. I want to pray for you.”
I started praying, and suddenly the Spirit of God hit his midsection and jerked him. He said, “Oh, something in me just popped, something in the middle of me just moved sideways.”
I said, “Get up, and bend over.” He stood up, bent over, and felt no pain. God repaired two vertebrae for him as he was sitting there in that chair.
That has happened to me only a few times. That was the funniest thing I have ever seen. God simply moved his back and put it in the correct position. God is the best chiropractor you have ever met. Well, He is! He can do anything. Anything!
I have watched God take people and twist them in every direction. I saw Him take a woman at our mission one night and rotate her arm backward and upward until her arm was fully extended. I thought, “God, you are going to damage this woman’s arm. That arm will just rotate so far that way.”
Then I said, “Doyle, you had better leave God alone. He knows how to deal with people’s arms.” What God did was amazing. The woman’s arm was completely healed.
Remember, you have the authority—the privilege—to preach the gospel. But, be wise. Do not go anywhere to preach the gospel until you have the power of the Holy Spirit in you.
