Isus S-a Smerit, Capitolul 10
Imediat înainte de moartea, îngroparea, și învierea Lui Isus, Acesta a mers pe Muntele Măslinilor împreună cu discipolii Săi. Uitați-vă la Luca 22:39-46:
A îeșit afară și S-a dus, ca de obicei, spre Muntele Măslinilor. Ucenicii L-au urmat și ei (v. 39).
Când a ajuns în locul acela, le-a zis: Rugați-vă să nu cădeți în îspită (v. 40).
Isus le-a spus să se roage. Rugăciunea vă ține departe de ispită.
Versetul 41 continuă:
Apoi S-a retras de lângă ei, cam la o distanță de o aruncăturăde piatră, s-a pus pe genunchi și s-a rugat (v. 41),
Zicând: Tată, dacă vrei, îndepărtează de la Mine paharul acesta. Totuși facă-se nu voia Mea, ci a Ta (v. 42).
Oamenii religioși m-au împiedicat ani de zile să transmit aceste învățături așa cum trebuie. Nu ei sunt, însă, responsabili--eu sunt. Eu sunt responsabil pentru că i-am lăsat.
În versetul 42, în timp ce El îngenunchia, Isus a spus, "...Tată, dacă vrei, îndepărtează de la Mine paharul acesta. Totuși facă-se nu voia Mea, ci a Ta”. Isus suferea atunci când se ruga această rugăciune. Amintiți-vă Evrei 2:18 spune că Isus a suferit atunci când a fost tentat. Conform Bibliei, singurul moment în care noi suferim este atunci când suntem tentați să credem în Dumnezeu.
Evrei 2:10 spune că Isus a devenit perfect prin suferințele sale. Evrei 5:8 spune că El a învățat să asculte prin suferință. Isus a trecut prin fiecare tentație,și apoi a ajuns pe cruce.
În Marcu 14:33-34, într-o altă descriere a acestui eveniment, Isus spune că sufletul Lui a fost greu și foarte întristat, chiar până la moarte. El era foarte îngreunat. În Lucă, El a spus, “...Tată, dacă vrei, îndepărtează de la Mine paharul acesta: Totuși facă-se nu voia Mea, ci a Ta”.
Chiar dacă acceptați asta sau nu, acesta a fost act de smerenie din partea Lui Isus. Filipeni 2:8 spune:
S-a smerit și a devenit ascultător până la moarte și încă moarte pe cruce.
Isus s-a smerit și a spus, “...dacă vrei, îndepărtează de la Mine paharul acesta: Totuși facă-se nu voia Mea, ci a Ta”.
Au existat vreo trei sau patru momente în viața mea ăn care a trebuit să iau niște decizii foarte dificile și de fiecare dată am spus, “Tată, îți încredințez Ție asta. Dacă am făcut vreo greșeală--dacă este voia ta ca eu să fac altceva, bine; dacă nu, bine. În orice caz, voia ta se va face”. Tatăl mi-a confirmat decizia de fiecare dată. Să vă spun asta: voia Tatalui este să vă transmit Evanghelia vouă și Evanghelia nu va eșua.
Îngerii Vă Vor Întări
Acum uitați-vă la Luca 22:43:
Atunci I s-a arătat un înger din cer, ca să-L întărească.
Dacă aveți nevoie de putere, un înger va veni și vă va întări. Cum de știu asta? Pentru că un înger întărit pe Isus. Dacă Isus a avut nevoie de un înger ca să Îl întărească, cât de mult credeți că avem noi nevoie de îngeri pentru a ne întări? Avem nevoie de vreo doi sau trei. Un înger a venit din ceruri și L-a întărit. Atunci când aveți nevoie de putere, atunci îngerii Domnului vă vor întări.
Dumnezeu mi-a oferit asta o dată. El a spus, “Îți voi trimite îngeri pentru a te sluji și a te întări”. Am fost uimit. M-am gândit, “Ce vrei să spui, că îngerii mă slujesc pe mine? Nici măcar nu pot vedea îngeri”. Ei bine, cu siguranță nu poți vedea îngeri până când nu crezi în Dumnezeu.
Dacă voi credeți în Dumnezeu, atunci nu vă va păsa dacă vedeți sau nu îngeri. Atunci când sunteți slăbiți, dacă un înger vine și vă slujește și voi sunteți mai puternici, nu vă va păsa l-ați văzut sau nu.
Veți fi ca oamenii orbi din Ioan 9. Fariseii i-au spus că păcătoșii nu se pot vindeca. El a spus, “Dacă acest om este păcătos sau nu (vorbea despre Isus), nu știu asta. Un lucru știu--am fost orb și acum văd”. Putea să adauge, “Chiar dacă El este un păcătos, a făcut mai multe decât puteți face voi”.
Isus Era Într-o Luptă
Uitați-vă la Luca 22:44:
Fiind în agonie, El se ruga cu și mai multă ardoare:...
În acest fel se ruga Isus. Cuvântul “agonie” vine din cuvântul grec agonia și înseamnă “o luptă”. Dumnezeu mi-a spus odată, “Vei intra într-o luptă rugându-te. Așa s-a rugat și Fratele tău:”
...iar sudoarea Lui devenise ca niște picături de sânge care cădeau pe pământ (v. 44).
Eu nu am fost niciodată în acel fel de luptă. Nu am experimentat până acum rugăciunea la aceiași întensitate.
Rugați-vă, Ca Să Nu Cădeți În Ispită
În final, uitați-vă la Luca 22:45 și 46:
Când S-a ridicat de la rugăciune și a venit la ucenici, i-a găsit adormiți de întristare (v. 45),
El le-a zis: De ce dormiți? Sculați-vă și rugați-vă, ca să nu cădeți în ispită (v. 46).
Isus le-a spus din nou să stea departe de ispită--și să se roage. Dacă vă rugați, nu contează cum vă va tenta diavolul; voi nu veți putea eșua.
Dacă nu vă rugați, sunteți numai o tentație care caută un loc să se manifeste. Credeți-mă, e adevărat. Atunci când vă rugați, nu veți eșua. Îngerii vă vor împuternici și voi veți putea să faceți față tentației.
Isus a făcut voia Tatălui. A communicat perfect cu Tatăl, și a făcut numai lucruri pe care le-a văzut pe Tată că le face. A fost condus de Duh, și sufletul și trupul său au fost făcute drepte prin credința și ascultarea Sa.
Isus S-a smerit și L-a ascultat pe Tată până la moartea sa, chiar și când murea pe cruce. Și pentru că Isus L-a ascultat pe Tată și a crezut în Evanghelie, voi și eu vom putea să umblăm chiar așa cum a umblat și El.
Jesus Humbled Himself, by Doyle Davidson, Chapter 10
Immediately before Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, He went to the Mount of Olives with His disciples. Look at Luke 22:39-46:
And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him (v. 39).
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation (v. 40).
Jesus told them to pray. Prayer keeps you out of temptation.
Verse 41 continues:
And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed (v. 41),
Saying, Father, if thou will be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done (v. 42).
Religious people hindered me for years from teaching this accurately. They are not responsible, however--I am. I am responsible for being so blind that I let them.
In verse 42, as He kneeled down, Jesus said, “...Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Jesus was suffering as He prayed this prayer. Remember that Hebrews 2:18 says that Jesus suffered being tempted. According to the Bible, the only time you suffer is when you are tempted not to believe God.
Hebrews 2:10 says that Jesus was made perfect through sufferings. Hebrews 5:8 says that He learned obedience through suffering. Jesus experienced every temptation, and then He endured the cross.
In Mark 14:33-34, another account of this event, Jesus says that His soul was heavy and exceeding sorrowful, even unto death. Heaviness was on Him. In Luke, He said, “...Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
Whether you accept this or not, this was an act of humility by Jesus. Philippians 2:8 says:
He humbled himself, and became obedient unto the death, even the death of the cross.
Jesus humbled Himself, and He said, “...If thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.”
There have been three or four times in my life that I have had to make very difficult decisions, and each time I said, “Father, I commit this to you. If I have made a mistake--if it is your will for me to do something else, fine; if not, fine. Nevertheless your will be done.” The Father confirmed my decision every time. Let me tell you this: the Father’s will is to minister the gospel to you, and that gospel will not fail.
Angels Will Strengthen You
Now, look at Luke 22:43:
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
If you need strength, and angel will come and strengthen you. How do I know? Because an angel strengthened Jesus. If Jesus needed an angel to strengthen Him, how much more do you think we need angels to strengthen us? We might need two or three. An angel came from heaven and strengthened Him. When you need strength, thank God that the angels of God will strengthen you.
God ministered that to me one time. He said, “I am going to have angels minister to you and strengthen you.” I was amazed. I thought, “What do you mean, angels ministering to me? I cannot even see angels.” Well, certainly you cannot see angels until you believe God.
If you believe God, you will not care whether you see angels. When you are weak, if an angel comes and ministers to you and you are strengthened, you will not care if you saw him or not.
You will be like the blind man in John 9. The Pharisees told him that sinners cannot heal. He said, “Whether this man is a sinner or not (talking about Jesus) I do not know. One thing I know--I was blind, and now I see.” He could have added. “Even if He is a sinner, He did more than you could do.”
Jesus Was in a Contest
Look at Luke 22:44:
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly:...
That is the way Jesus prayed. The word “agony” comes from the Greek word agonia and means “a contest.” God said to me once, “You will get into a contest praying. This is how your Brother prayed:”
...And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground (v. 44).
I have have never been in that kind of contest. I have not yet experienced prayer to that degree.
Pray, Lest Ye Enter into Temptation
Finally, look at Luke 22:45 and 46:
And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow (v. 45),
And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation (v. 46).
Jesus told them again how to stay out of temptation--pray. If you pray, it does not make any difference how the devil tempts you; you will not fail.
If you do not pray, you are simply a temptation looking for a place to happen. Believe me, it is true. When you pray, you are not going to fall. The angels will strengthen you, and you will be able to withstand the temptation.
Jesus did the Father’s will. He had perfect communication with the Father, and He only did the things He saw the Father do. He was led by the Spirit, and His soul and body were made righteous by His faith and His obedience.
Jesus humbled Himself and obeyed the Father unto the death, even the death of the cross. And because Jesus obeyed the Father and believed the gospel, you and I are able to walk even as He walked.
