Every Tongue, Every Nation
The Lord Jesus led me to learn the romanian language several years ago. God led me to marry a man from romania and it was all at the direction of God.
He has led me to preach the gospel to the people of romania, and it has been very humbling.
I’ve obeyed God in ministering to the romanian’s and now I’m in the second month, in my new job; and I’m well on my way to becoming a million dollar writer.
I give all the glory to God, for his mercy and grace on my life.

Acest lucru mi s-a părut o propunere bună, deoarece nu urma să am obligații față de el sau de altcineva. Puteam să mă opresc și să încep când voiam eu. Așa că, după vreo două luni, timp în care m-am rugat și am studiat acest aspect, m-am dus să lucrez pentru Ed Timmons, în calitate de comis-voiajor pentru compania Tyco Oil, al cărei director general era el.
Domnul Timmons a hotărât să meargă cu mine în prima săptămână, să mă instruiască în arta de a vinde și să-mi comunice unde se află terenul meu de acțiune. Când eram gata să începem, mi-a spus că asta va fi săptămâna în care voi predica întrucât îmi făcuse programări. În prima seară ne-am oprit la o bisericuță din Fulton, Kansas, și, spre surprinderea mea, l-am întâlnit acolo pe bătrânul Frate Gamble, pe care îl cunoscusem înainte să fiu mântuit. Construise această biserică în Fulton și aștepta doar să vină cineva să predice pentru el. Anunțaserăm oamenii că venim, iar ei ne căutau.
În seara următoare am fost în Rich Hill, Missouri. Când am ajuns la hotel, l-am întrebat pe proprietar dacă există vreo adunare în oraș, iar el ne-a spus că are loc o adunare a Mișcării Sfinților din Zilele din Urmă și o citire a Bibliei. Așa că, în loc să mergem la un spectacol sau ceva de genul acesta, cum aveam în suflet ceva diferit, ne-am dus la Cursurile Biblice.
Pastorul bisericii predica capitolul al zecelea din Fapte, de la versetul douăzeci și șase până la versetul patruzeci și patru, și nu încerca să propovăduiască nimic altceva decât botezul cu apă. Eu și fratele Timmons răspunseserăm la câteva dintre întrebările sale atunci când a dorit să știe dacă vreunul dintre noi este predicator, iar fratele Timmons i-a spus că eu sunt.
Apoi m-a întrebat dacă în felul acesta am privit acea Scriptură, și anume că oamenii aceia aveau să primească un botez spiritual, iar cei din epoca modernă aveau să primească doar botez cu apă. L-am întrebat: „Frate, este același botez despre care predica același Petru și pe care oamenii l-au primit în ziua Rusaliilor?” Mi-a răspuns: „Da, același Petru predică.” Am zis: „Același bărbat a spus în ziua aceea: «Asta este pentru tine și copiii tăi. Da, îl primim. Trebuie să îl avem. Eu îl am.»” Părea că nu știe exact ce să spună și, în cele din urmă, a zis: „Nu pot primi această interpretare, dar vom amâna cursul pentru diseară și îl vom ruga pe Fratele Hodge să predice pentru noi.”
Acum, cum îi făgăduisem Domnului că voi intra pe fiecare ușă deschisă, aici, spre surprinderea mea, era o ușă larg deschisă, așa că am pășit în față și le-am predicat oamenilor acelora așa cum nu mai predicasem până atunci. Înainte să termin, oamenii plângeau, iar Dumnezeu era acolo întru adevăr. Oamenii m-au rugat să mă întorc, dar am observat că pastorului nu-i păsa dacă mă întorc sau nu.
Când am plecat de la adunare, m-am uitat la luna care tocmai urca deasupra dealului și i-am spus Fratelui Timmons: „Tim, aș vrea să urc în vârful dealului și să mă rog.” El mi-a răspuns: „Avem o mașină bună aici și putem merge.” Ne-am dus în vârful dealului și, în timp ce stăteam în genunchi, pe preria pustie, Dumnezeu ne-a răspuns. Parcă cerurile s-au deschis larg și ne-au binecuvântat sufletele cu deplinătatea lui Dumnezeu, iar eu am strigat: „Doamne Dumnezeule, călăuzește-ne mașina mâine seară către o adunare a Sfințeniei aprinse.”
În seara următoare, în jurul orei șapte, am ajuns într-un oraș mic numit Eldorado Springs. Ni s-a spus că se ține o adunare acolo în seara aceea. Am intrat și am stat jos. Cântecele Sionului răsunau și am știut că suntem în locul potrivit. Dumnezeu era cu adevărat acolo. Oamenii ne-au invitat să ne întoarcem, iar noi le-am spus că vom veni dacă Domnul va dori acest lucru.
În următoarea seară am ajuns într-un oraș numit Butler și am stat într-un loc cunoscut sub numele de Cottage Hotel, administrat de un bărbat pe nume Harvey Johnson. L-am întrebat dacă știe că s-ar ține vreo adunare a Sfințeniei în oraș, iar el ne-a spus că are loc o adunare de rugăciune la Biserica Fratelui Wright. Am fost la adunare. A fost minunat. Și acolo am fost invitați să ne întoarcem, iar eu m-am întors și am găsit un prieten foarte bun în Fratele Wright. În sâmbăta aceea, când am plecat acasă, am simțit că petrecusem o săptămână nemaipomenită cu noul meu prieten.

This looked like a good proposition to me as I wouldn’t be under obligations to him or anyone else. I could stop when I wanted to and start when I wanted to. So after about two months of praying and studying over this matter I went to work for Ed Timmons, as a traveling salesman for the Tyco Oil Company of which Ed Timmons was the general manager.
Mr. Timmons decided to go with me the first week so as to instruct me in salesmanship and to let me know where my territory was. As we were ready to start, he told me that this was to be the one week that I would preach as he had made appointments for me. The first night we stopped at a little church in Fulton, Kansas, and to my surprise I met old Brother Gamble whom I had known before I was saved. He had built this church in Fulton and was just waiting for someone to come and preach for him. We had notified the people that we were coming and they were looking for us.
The next night we were in Rich Hill, Missouri. Upon arriving at the hotel we asked the landlord if there was a meeting of any kind in town; and he told us there was a Latter Day Saint meeting going on, and a Bible Reading. So instead of going to a show or something like that, as we had something different in our souls, we went down to the Bible Classes.
The pastor of the church was teaching the tenth chapter of Acts, from the twenty-sixth to the forty-fourth verses, and he was trying to teach nothing but water baptism. Brother Timmons and I had answered some of his questions when he asked us if one of us was a preacher, and Brother Timmons told him that I was.
Then he asked me if this was the way I looked at this Scripture-- that these people were to receive a spiritual baptism and that the people in modern days were to receive only water baptism. I asked him, “Brother, is this the same baptism that this same Peter was preaching about and that the people received on the day of Pentecost?” He said, “Yes, the same Peter preaching.” I said, “This same man said that day, This is for you and your children. Yes, we get it. We must have it. I have it.” It seemed as though he didn’t know just what to say, and finally he said, “I can’t get that interpretation, but we will adjourn the class for the night and we will ask Brother Hodge to preach for us.”
Now, I had promised the Lord I would enter every open door; and here to my surprise was a door wide open, so I stepped to the front and preached to those people as I had never preached before. Before I got through, the people were crying and God was there in truth. The people asked me to come back, but I could see that the pastor didn’t care whether I came back or not.
As we left the meeting, I looked at the moon that was just coming up over the hill, and said to Brother Timmons, “Tim, I would like to get on that hilltop and pray.” He said, “We have a good car here and we can go.” We went to the hilltop, and on our knees on the bare prairie we heard from God. It seemed as though the heavens were opened wide and blessed our souls with the fulness of God, and I cried out, “Lord God, guide our car to a red-hot Holiness meeting tomorrow night.”
About seven o’clock the next night we drove into a little town called Eldorado Springs. We were told that a meeting was being held there that night. We went in and sat down. The songs of Zion were ringing, and we knew we were in the right place. God was really there. The people invited us back, and we told them we would come if the Lord willed it.
The next night we came to a town called Butler, and we stayed at what is known as the Cottage Hotel managed by a man by the name of Harvey Johnson. We asked him if he knew of a Holiness meeting going on in town, and he said that there was a prayer meeting at Brother Wright’s Church. We went to the meeting. It was wonderful. We were invited back there also, and I have been back, and found a very good friend in Brother Wright. That Saturday, when I went home, I felt that I had had a wonderful week with my new-found friend.

Exhortation/This Is Not Of Me
I was talking on the phone with a friend this morning and a testimony came up that I had shared with them a while back.
I believe I was about 6 years of age and I was in a girl scout troop. The women over our troop decided that it would be great for us young girls to visit a nursing home and try to cheer up the people who were living there.
They took us to a facility that was in the neighborhood, and as we entered the main hallway, I observed elderly people shuffling around; some could barely walk. We continued down a main corridor which was the women’s ward. Some of the women were asleep, but the ones that were awake looked very oppressed.
I began to feel very uneasy being in that place as we began to walk to another part of the building, which was where the men stayed. As we got further down that corridor, the stench of urine was so overpowering I thought I was going to pass out. The sadness, the oppression and just the over all horror of that place was so alarming.
Fear gripped me and I thought to myself, I DON’T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ME!
Immediately the Lord Jesus spoke to me and said, “This won’t happen to you..this is not of me.”
After Jesus spoke those words to me, the fear immediately left and those words have encouraged me throughout my whole adult life. As I became older, people would speak things to me about aging and how we are supposed to just fall apart and for our bodies not to function like they use too; that is all a lie.
Our bodies were not created to just break down after so many years. In Deuteronomy chapter 34:7, it says that Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. (NIV)
I also want to encourage you with Isaiah 53:4-5. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Believe those words, meditate on them day and night and watch the power of God heal you, deliver you from every sickness and disease. The word of God is true.
Oh, and by the way, after that little visit to that nursing home, I left the girl scouts that week.

Cam în această perioadă am primit o scrisoare din Independence, Kansas, în care mi se cerea să vin și să țin o adunare acolo. Când am ajuns, toți cei sfinți erau nerăbdători să mă vadă. Țineau câteva adunări bune, la care participau bărbați și femei care primeau lămuriri despre lucrul Sfințeniei în aspecte financiare și care erau pregătiți să susțină Sfințenia în orice moment. Printre aceștia se număra un bărbat pe care îl observasem de multe ori și mi s-a spus că a participat la adunări în locul acela încă de când s-a predicat Sfințenia pentru prima dată acolo. Părea să fie mereu gata să ajute cu ofrande și toți cei sfinți păreau să se intereseze de binele lui; cu toate acestea, era un păcătos, deși văzuse multe miracole minunate înfăptuite prin puterea lui Dumnezeu.
Omul acesta părea să mă displacă cu adevărat. Nu-i făcusem niciodată vreun rău și îi întinsesem mâna frăției. Am înțeles că fusese un admirator adevărat al vechiului meu prieten, Fratele Floyd Martin. Când începeau adunările, el asculta cu tot interesul cântecele și mărturiile sfinților lui Dumnezeu; dar, dintr-un motiv sau altul, când luam Biblia și începeam să predic, acest bărbat își lua haina pe el și pleca din sala de adunări.
Desigur, nu mă deranja acest lucru, întrucât știam că mulți plecaseră de la adunări înainte. Am aflat că acest bărbat era un comis-voiajor care își petrecea cea mai mare parte a timpului călătorind pentru unul dintre marile magazine engros din Independence și era foarte apreciat de toți oamenii de afaceri ai orașului. Numele lui era Ed Timmons. I-am menționat numele aici pentru că, deși mă displăcea mult, în timp, Dumnezeu l-a făcut cel mai mare prieten de pe pământ pe care l-am avut vreodată.

Cineva mi-a spus ceva de genul acesta: „Va însemna ceva pentru omul ăsta să primească Sfințenia.” Și în timp ce ne uitam și ne rugam pentru el, s-a ridicat în picioare cu slava lui Dumnezeu strălucindu-i în ochi; iar când m-a văzut chiar deasupra lui, și-a aruncat brațele în jurul meu și a strigat într-un glas minunat: „Sunt mântuit”. Mi-a cerut iertare pentru gândurile rele pe care mi le-a purtat în timp ce țineam prima mea adunare acolo, iar eu l-am asigurat că l-am iertat de voie. A mers de la unul la altul în sală, binecuvântându-L și lăudându-L pe Dumnezeu.
Când i-am spus că locuiesc în Mulberry, Kansas, m-a întrebat: „Ce faci când nu ții o adunare?” I-am spus că lucrez la un atelier auto de acolo. El mi-a răspuns că se bucură să afle asta și că va veni să mă vadă peste câteva zile. Mi-a zis că s-ar putea să găsească ceva mai bun pentru mine din care să-mi câștig existența. Apoi mi-a spus că este comis-voiajor și că ar dori să discute cu mine cândva. Lumea voia să rămână în continuare și să țină o adunare după întrunire; dar eu le-am spus că am ceva de lucru și prin urmare, am plecat acasă.
Într-o zi, în timp ce lucram în atelier, la trei săptămâni după întrunire, am auzit pe cineva în fața atelierului întrebând dacă este vreun bărbat pe nume Hodge care lucrează acolo, iar managerul i-a spus că da, și că lucrez la o mașină în spatele atelierului. Nu era nimeni altul decât noul meu prieten, Timmons.
După ce ne-am salutat, domnul Timmons mi-a spus: „Pare destul de greu pentru un predicator al Sfințeniei să lucreze așa într-un atelier murdar.” Apoi mi-a oferit un post, care presupunea să încep să lucrez pentru el în timpul meu liber, cu un salariu bun și comision. About this time I got a letter from Independence, Kansas, asking me to come and hold a meeting there. On arriving, I found the saints all anxious to see me. They were having some good meetings; and attending those meetings were men and women who had light on Holiness work in financial matters and were ready to defend Holiness at any and all times. Among these was a man whom I had noticed many times, and I was told that he had attended meetings at that place ever since Holiness was first preached there. He seemed to be always ready to help in the offering, and all the saints seemed to be interested in his welfare; yet he was a sinner, though he had seen many wonderful miracles performed through the power of God.
It seemed as though this man had a real dislike for me. I had never done him any harm, and had extended him the hand of fellowship. I understood that he had been a real admirer of my old friend, Brother Floyd Martin. When the meetings began, he would listen with all interest to the songs and testimonies of the saints of God; but for some reason or other, when I would take my Bible and start to preach, this man would put on his coat and leave the meeting house.
This, of course, did not trouble me as I had known of lots of people who had left the meetings before. I learned this man was a traveling salesman who put in most of his time traveling for one of the large wholesale houses of Independence, and was well liked by all the businessmen of the city. His name was Ed Timmons. I mentioned his name here because, although he had a great dislike for me, in the course of time God made him the greatest earthly friend I ever had.
About three years after this meeting our Annual Conference was being held at the same church where the meeting was held; and it being New Year’s this man, Timmons, was on a vacation and he and his family were attending the conference. The second night of the Conference there was a great crowd of sinners at the altar seeking God; and to my surprise this traveling salesman was right there crying out for mercy, and almost all eyes were on him.
Someone said something like this to me, “It will mean something for that man to get Holiness.” And while we were looking and praying for him, he rose to his feet with the glory of God gleaming in his eyes; and upon seeing me just above him, he threw his arms around me and cried with a great voice, “I am saved.” He asked my pardon for the mean thoughts he had about me while I was holding my first meeting there, and I assured him that I had freely forgiven him. He went from one to another in the house, blessing and praising God.
When I told him in Mulberry, Kansas, he said, “What do you do when you are not holding a meeting?” I told him I was working at a garage at that place. He said he was glad to find that out and that he would be over to see me in a few days. He said he might find something better to offer me in a way of making a living. He then told me he was a traveling salesman and that he would like to have a talk with me some time. The people wanted to stay on and hold a meeting after conference; but I told them I had some work to look after, and accordingly I went home.
One day while working in the garage, three weeks after the conference, I heard someone at the front of the garage ask if there was a man working there by the name of Hodge, and the manager told him Yes, and that I was back in the garage working on a car. It was no other than my new friend, Timmons.
After we had greeted each other, Mr. Timmons said to me, “It looks pretty hard for a Holiness preacher to have to work in a dirty garage this way.” He then offered me a position to start to work for him in my spare time, at a good salary and a commission. He told me that when I wasn’t preaching or doing anything else in the service of the Lord, I could have this job. He said that he would look after my work while I was preaching. He gave me thirty days to think it over and decide what I wanted to do.

Sfințirea lui Elliot Hodge/Sanctification of Elliot Hodge română/engleză
Purificarea și începutul slujirii, Partea 7:2
Dumnezeu m-a păzit prin toate încercările și locurile cu greutăți. Vedeți voi, dragii mei, o grămadă de oameni care profesează religia vă vor spune că este imposibil să trăiți fără de păcat. Am spus adesea că eu însumi m-am mântuit pe mine înainte de Domnul; dar după ce L-am primit în suflet pe Hristos din Biblie, m-am răzgândit. Am încercat să găsesc în Biblie locul unde se zice așa: „Cine spune că a trăit și nu a păcătuit este un mincinos și adevărul nu este în el.”
Dar, dragi cititori, adevărul nu este acolo, iar eu trăiam de fapt fără de păcat. Dumnezeu cobora din când în când și îmi binecuvânta sufletul. Mi-am strigat victoria în fața diavolului, iar lumea nu mi-a mai putut spune niciodată că trebuie să păcătuiesc un pic acolo unde voiam sau nu. Vedeți voi, când semenii noștri slujesc diavolul, acesta îi poartă în astfel de obiceiuri - minciuni, înjurături, povești murdare, droguri, fumat, furie, dorința de a ucide, comiterea a tot felul de alte lucruri rele. Dar când Îl slujim pe Dumnezeu, trăim fără de păcat; obiceiurile noastre se schimbă complet și în loc să facem păcate de moarte, avem neprihănire în viața veșnică. O, suflete iubite, toate lucrurile lucrează împreună spre binele celor care Îl iubesc pe Dumnezeu; iar eu Îl iubesc din tot sufletul.
Cu siguranță El este bun cu mine, iar eu găsesc mereu în El un prieten la nevoie. Când am cel mai mult nevoie de El, El vine mereu la timp; iar eu am învățat să cred în El și tot ceea ce a promis că va face pentru a găsi calea ca noi să ieșim din ispită (1 Corinteni 10:13); El îi va păzi pe toți cei care vor veni la El.
Lumea vă va spune că zilele miracolelor s-au terminat; dar, dragi cititori, dacă nu sunteți mântuiți, veniți la Isus pentru a fi și veți spune că s-a făcut un miracol cu sufletul vostru. El face încă lucruri care mântuiesc sufletul și schimbă inima. El m-a scos din atâtea locuri cu greutăți și m-a păzit când dușmanul a încercat să mă tragă în jos. Am primit tot ce am vrut din Egipt cât timp am fost acolo și nu intenționez să mă întorc în locul acela. Dumnezeu m-a scos cu o mână mare și aproape de atunci am trecut în ținutul Canaan. Lăudați-L pe Dumnezeu pentru totdeauna!
El vă va ajuta să convingeți scepticii, necredincioșii și cei ce se opun Sfințeniei că există o realitate în mântuire. El poate „face mult mai mult decât cerem sau gândim noi” (Efeseni 3:20). Lucram în minele de cărbune din orașul Crawsburg, iar șeful meu era necredincios. S-a enervat foarte tare când m-am convertit, spunând că religia nu înseamnă nimic și că nu există rai sau iad. Cu cât îi mărturiseam mai mult, cu atât se înfuria mai tare. Lua în derâdere și vorbea disprețuitor despre mântuire; iar unii oameni îl credeau, alții se întrebau pe care dintre noi să-l creadă.
Știam ce făcuse Dumnezeu pentru mine. Conduceam catârii și acest șef necredincios al meu a vrut să mă schimbe cu un alt conducător de catâri, pentru că nu era mulțumit de modul în care lucra celălalt acolo. Era un loc foarte periculos. Era o regulă, aceea ca cel mai în vârstă să nu fie schimbat decât dacă vrea; iar eu eram cel mai în vârstă de acolo, așa că depindea de mine să fac sau nu schimbul. Șeful a venit la mine și mi-a spus: „Hodge, omul ăsta nu se înțelege prea bine cu catârii de acolo și aș vrea să faci schimbul cu el. Desigur”, mi-a zis el, „nu trebuie, decât dacă vrei, dar mi-ai face o mare favoare dacă ai face asta.”
Dumnezeu m-a învățat să nu fiu cârcotaș, așa că l-am întrebat dacă crede că celălalt ar face schimbul. „Desigur că ar face”, a spus el. Am făcut schimbul – el a luat echipa mea și eu am luat-o pe a lui. Pericolul din acest loc era acela că vagoanele cu cărbune pe care trebuia să le tragem mergeau pe o bandă, iar când ieșeau afară cu ele, era greu ca oamenii să meargă înaintea lor în timp ce coborau dealul. Trebuia să aprind o lumină să poată trece; iar într-o zi, în timp ce coboram acest deal, lumina mea s-a stins și ne-a lăsat în beznă totală. Cel mai mare catâr s-a lovit cu capul de peretele de la intrare și a căzut înapoi peste mine, acoperindu-mă complet.
Trupul îmi era îngropat în cărbune, iar fundul catârului îmi apăsa pe tâmplă. În jur de 1.200 de livre mă țineau la pământ. Nu era nimeni lângă mine și chiar aveam nevoie de ajutor, dar nu aveam de unde să-l primesc, decât de la Dumnezeu. O, ce prieten este El! Așa că am început să mă rog și mi s-a părut dintr-odată că o oarecare putere nevăzută a ridicat catârul, suficient încât să mă lase să mă târăsc afară, după care l-a întins la loc pe jos.
În timp ce mă târam afară , am zis: „Mulțumesc, Isuse.” După un timp, șeful necredincios a venit să mă caute; iar când m-a găsit, m-a întrebat: „Cum s-a întâmplat, Hodge?” Când i-am povestit, mi-a spus: „Ei, cum naiba ai ieșit de acolo?” I-am zis că Dumnezeu m-a ajutat. M-a întrebat cine a fost cu mine, iar eu i-am răspuns că Isus și catârii. El a spus: „Hodge, sigur n-ai fi reușit singur.” Când i-am povestit exact cum s-a întâmplat, el a crezut și a fost convins că există un Dumnezeu în ceruri și nu s-a mai opus niciodată lui Dumnezeu.
Am zis: „Doamne, dacă asta a fost calea Ta de a convinge pe cineva care se opune Sfințeniei, eu sunt mulțumit, chiar dacă sunt un pic uluit.” Dumnezeu vă va oferi o șansă de a-L dovedi dacă Îi veți asculta vocea.
Sanctification and Beginning In The Ministry, Part 7:2
God has kept me through all the trials and hard places. You see, dearer, a great many people that are professing religion will tell you that it is impossible to live above sin. I had often said that myself before the Lord saved me; but after I received the Christ of the Bible into my heart, I changed my mind. I tried to find the place in the Bible where it says, “ He that saith he liveth and sinneth not is a liar and the truth is not in him.”
But, dear reader, it just isn’t there, and I was actually living above sin. God would come down every now and then and bless my soul. I would shout the victory in the face of the devil, and people could never tell me any more that I had to sin just a little where I wanted to or not, You see, when folks are serving the devil he gets them into such habits--lying, cursing, telling smutty stories, chewing, smoking, getting angry, wanting to kill, committing all kinds of other mean things. But when we serve God, we live above sin; our habits are completely changed and instead of sinning unto death, we have righteousness unto everlasting life. Oh, beloved souls, all things work together for good to them that love God; and I love Him with all my heart.
He surely has been good to me, and I have always found a friend in time of need. Always when I need Him the most, He comes in time; and I have learned to believe Him and all that He has promised to make a way to escape, (1 Cor. 10:13) and He can keep everyone that will come to Him.
People will tell you that the days of miracles are over; but, dear reader, if you are not saved just come to Jesus and be saved and you will say a miracle has been performed on your soul. He is still in the soul-saving, heart-changing business. He has delivered me out of so many hard places and has kept me when the enemy has tried to drag me down. I got all of Egypt I wanted while I was there, and I don’t mean to go back down there. God brought me out with a high hand, and I have been over in the land of Canaan almost ever since. Praise God forever!
He will help you to convince skeptics and infidels and Holiness fighters that there is a reality in salvation. He can “do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20). I was working in the coal mines at the town of Crawsburg, and my boss was an infidel. He got very angry when I was converted, and he said there was nothing to religion and there was no heaven or hell. The more I testified to him, the more he would rage about it. He would laugh and scoff at salvation; and some of the men would believe him, and some would wonder which one of us to believe.
I knew what God had done for me. I was a mule driver, and this infidel boss of mine wanted to change me with another driver because the other man was not giving satisfaction at the place where he was. It was a very dangerous place. It was a rule that the older man didn’t have to change unless he wanted to; and I was the oldest man there, it was up to me whether I made the change or not. The boss came to me and said, “Hodge, that man is not getting along very well with those mules over there, and I wish you would change with him. “Of course,” he said, “you don’t have to unless you want to, but you would be doing me a great favor if you would do it.”
Now God had taught me not to be contentious, so I told him if he thought it would with him. “Of course,” he said, would change. We made the change--he took my team and I took his. The danger of this place was that the cars of coal we had to haul ran on a track, and in coming out with them it was hard for the team to outrun them going down a hill. I had to shine a light for them to go by; and one day while we were going down this hill my light went out and left us in total darkness. The largest mule hit his head against the side of the entry and fell backward on me, completely covering me up.
My body was crushed down in the coal, and the mule’s hames were pressing down into my temple. About 1200 pounds were holding me down. There was no one near me, and I was really in need of help but with no way to get it but from God. Oh, such a friend is He! So I began to pray, and it seemed all at once some unseen power raised the mule up just enough to let me crawl out and laid him back down.
As I crawled out, I said, “Thank You, Jesus.” After a while the infidel boss came to hunt me; and when he found me, he said, “How did it happen, Hodge?” When I told him, he said, “Well, how in the world did you get out of there?” I told Him that God helped me. He asked me who was with me, I told him Jesus and the mules. He said, “Now, Hodge, you surely couldn’t have done it yourself.” When I told him just how it was, he believed and was convinced that there is a God in Heaven, and he never did fight God any more.
I said, “Lord, if that is the way you had of convincing a Holiness fighter, I am satisfied even if I am bruised up a little. “God will give you a chance to prove Him if you will obey His voice.

Duhurile care slujesc moștenitorii mântuirii/Ministering Spirits To Heirs Of Salvation/română/engleză
Acum douăzeci și șase de ani, un prieten mi-a împărtășit această mărturie despre modul în care Dumnezeu l-a protejat pe el și pe colegii lui de un jaf armat.
Prietenul meu lucra în schimb de noapte într-un depozit al unei fabrici, într-un cartier din centru. Într-o noapte, el și câțiva dintre colegii lui lucrau ca de obicei, când dintr-odată doi bărbați cu puști cu țeavă scurtă au năvălit înăuntru și le-au spus tuturor să se întindă pe podea cu fața în jos.
Dacă îmi amintesc bine, prietenul meu mi-a spus că a început să-I șoptească lui Isus să vină să-i salveze, iar El i-a zis că vor sta pe podea doar pentru câteva minute; dintr-odată, unul dintre bărbații înarmați a spus: „De unde au venit tipii ăștia?”. Și au fugit din clădirea respectivă înainte ca cineva să se poată ridica de pe podea.
Când s-au ridicat cu toții de pe podea, nu era nimeni acolo. Prietenul meu mi-a spus: „Pam, am știut că Domnul a trimis acei îngeri să alunge oamenii ăia!”

Ministering Spirits To Heirs Of Salvation
Twenty-six years ago, a friend shared this testimony with me, about how God protected him and his co-workers from an armed robbery.
My friend use to work a late night shift at a factory warehouse, in a downtown district. One night he and a few of his co-workers were working as usual, when all of a sudden two men with sawed-off shot guns burst in, and told everyone to lie on the floor face down.
If I remember correctly, my friend said that he started whisper to Jesus for Him to come and save them, and he said that they were on the floor for only a few minutes; when all of a sudden one of the gunmen said, “Where did these guys come from”! And they ran out of that building before anyone could get off the floor.
When they all got up off the floor, no one was there. My friend said to me, “Pam, I knew the Lord sent those angels to run those men off!
