D. AȘEZAREA MÂINILOR
Isus și apostolii sunt exemplele noastre în privința doctrinei așezării mâinilor. Așezarea mâinilor poate aduce vindecare, învierea celor morți, botezul cu Duhul Sfânt, binecuvântare, împărtășirea darurilor spirituale, hirotonirea diaconilor și încheierea postului. Chiar și numai atingerea poate aduce vindecare. Însă nu trebuie să așezăm mâinile brusc pe nimeni și nici să fim părtași la păcatele altor oameni: pe tine însuți păzește-te curat.
Luca 4
``4 Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Este scris: Omul nu va trăi numai cu pîne, ci cu orice cuvînt care iese din gura lui Dumnezeu.``
14 Isus, plin de puterea Duhului, S'a întors în Galilea, şi I s'a dus vestea în tot ţinutul deprimprejur.
Luca 4
40 La asfinţitul soarelui, toţi cei ce aveau bolnavi atinşi de felurite boale, îi aduceau la El. El Îşi punea mînile peste fiecare din ei, şi -i vindeca.
41 Din mulţi ieşeau şi draci, cari strigau şi ziceau: ,,Tu eşti Hristosul, Fiul lui Dumnezeu.`` Dar El îi mustra, şi nu -i lăsa să vorbească, pentrucă ştiau că El este Hristosul.
Marcu 6
1 Isus a plecat de acolo, şi S'a dus în patria Lui. Ucenicii Lui au mers după El.
2 Cînd a venit ziua Sabatului, a început să înveţe pe norod în sinagogă. Mulţi, cînd Îl auzeau, se mirau şi ziceau: ,,De unde are El aceste lucruri? Ce fel de înţelepciune este aceasta, care I -a fost dată? Şi cum se fac astfel de minuni prin mînile Lui?
3 Nu este acesta tîmplarul, feciorul Mariei, fratele lui Iacov, al lui Iose, al lui Iuda şi al lui Simon? Şi nu sînt surorile Lui aici între noi?`` Şi găseau o pricină de poticnire în El.
4 Dar Isus le -a zis: ,,Un prooroc nu este dispreţuit decît în patria Lui, între rudele Lui şi în casa Lui.``
5 N'a putut să facă nici o minune acolo, ci doar Şi -a pus mînile peste cîţiva bolnavi, şi i -a vindecat.
6 Şi se mira de necredinţa lor.Isus străbătea satele de primprejur şi învăţa pe norod.
Marcu 1
39 Şi s'a dus să propovăduiască în sinagogi, prin toată Galilea; şi scotea dracii.
40 A venit la El un lepros, care s'a aruncat în genunchi înaintea Lui, Îl ruga şi -I zicea: ,,Dacă vrei, poţi să mă curăţeşti.
``41 Lui Isus I s'a făcut milă de el, a întins mîna, S'a atins de el, şi i -a zis: ,,Da, voiesc, fii curăţit!``
42 Îndată l -a lăsat lepra, şi s'a curăţit.
43 Isus i -a poruncit cu tot dinadinsul, i -a spus să plece numai decît,
44 şi i -a zis: ,,Vezi să nu spui nimănui nimic; ci du-te de te arată preotului, şi adu pentru curăţirea ta ce a poruncit Moise, ca mărturie pentru ei.
45 Dar omul acela, după ce a plecat, a început să vestească şi să spună în gura mare lucrul acesta, aşa că Isus nu mai putea să intre pe faţă în nicio cetate; ci stătea afară, în locuri pustii, şi veneau la El din toate părţile.
Marcu 5
``35 Pe cînd vorbea El încă, iată că vin nişte oameni dela fruntaşul sinagogii, cari -i spun: ,,Fiica ta a murit; pentruce mai superi pe Învăţătorul?`
``36 Dar Isus, fără să ţină seamă de cuvintele acestea, a zis fruntaşului sinagogii: ,,Nu te teme, crede numai!``
``37 Şi n'a îngăduit nimănui să -L însoţească, afară de Petru, Iacov şi Ioan, fratele lui Iacov.
38 Au ajuns la casa fruntaşului sinagogii. Acolo Isus a văzut o zarvă, şi pe unii cari plîngeau şi se tînguiau mult.
39 A intrat înlăuntru, şi le -a zis: ,,Pentruce faceţi atîta zarvă, şi pentruce plîngeţi? Copila n'a murit, ci doarme.
``40 Ei îşi băteau joc de El. Atunci, după ce i -a scos afară pe toţi, a luat cu El pe tatăl copilei, pe mama ei, şi pe cei ce -L însoţiseră, şi a intrat acolo unde zăcea copila.
41 A apucat -o de mînă, şi i -a zis: ,,Talita cumi``, care, tîlmăcit, însemnează: ,,Fetiţo, scoală-te, îţi zic!``
42 Îndată fetiţa s'a sculat, şi a început să umble; căci era de doisprezece ani. Ei au rămas încremeniţi.
43 Isus le -a poruncit cu tărie să nu ştie nimeni lucrul acesta; şi a zis să dea de mîncare fetiţei.
Marcu 10
``13 I-au adus nişte copilaşi, ca să Se atingă de ei. Dar ucenicii au certat pe ceice îi aduceau.
14 Cînd a văzut Isus acest lucru, S'a mîniat, şi le -a zis: ,,Lăsaţi copilaşii să vină la Mine, şi nu -i opriţi; căci Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu este a celor ca ei.
15 Adevărat vă spun că, oricine nu va primi Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu ca un copilaş, cu nici un chip nu va intra în ea!``
16 Apoi i -a luat în braţe, şi i -a binecuvîntat, punîndu-Şi mînile peste ei.
Luca 13
11 Şi acolo era o femeie stăpînită de optsprezece ani de un duh de neputinţă; era gîrbovă, şi nu putea nicidecum să-şi îndrepte spatele.
12 Cînd a văzut -o Isus, a chemat -o, şi i -a zis: ,,Femeie, eşti deslegată de neputinţa ta.
13 Şi -a întins mînile peste ea: îndată s'a îndreptat, şi slăvea pe Dumnezeu.
Marcu 3
10 Căci El vindeca pe mulţi şi de aceea toţi cei ce aveau boli, se înghesuiau spre El ca să se atingă de El.
11 Duhurile necurate, cînd Îl vedeau, cădeau la pămînt înaintea Lui, şi strigau: ,,Tu eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu.
Marcu 5
25 Şi era o femeie, care de doisprezece ani avea o scurgere de sînge.
26 Ea suferise mult dela mulţi doftori; cheltuise tot ce avea, şi nu simţise nici o uşurare; ba încă îi era mai rău.
27 A auzit vorbindu-se despre Isus, a venit pe dinapoi prin mulţime, şi s'a atins de haina Lui.
28 Căci îşi zicea ea: ,,Dacă aş putea doar să mă ating de haina Lui, mă voi tămădui.``
29 Şi îndată, a secat izvorul sîngelui ei. Şi a simţit în tot trupul ei că s'a tămăduit de boală.
30 Isus a cunoscut îndată că o putere ieşise din El; şi, întorcîndu-Se spre mulţime, a zis: ,,Cine s'a atins de hainele Mele?``
31 Ucenicii I-au zis: ,,Vezi că mulţimea Te îmbulzeşte, şi mai zici: ,,Cine s'a atins de Mine?``
32 El se uita de jur împrejur să vadă pe cea care făcuse lucrul acesta.
33 Femeea, înfricoşată şi tremurînd, căci ştia ce se petrecuse în ea, a venit de s'a aruncat la picioarele Lui, şi I -a spus tot adevărul.
34 Dar Isus i -a zis: ,,Fiică, credinţa ta te -a mîntuit; du-te în pace, şi fii tămăduită de boala ta.
Marcu 6
55 au alergat prin toate împrejurimile, şi au început să aducă pe bolnavi în paturi, pretutindeni pe unde se auzea că era El.
56 Oriunde intra El, în sate, în cetăţi sau în cătune, puneau pe bolnavi pe pieţe, şi -L rugau să le dea voie doar să se atingă de poalele hainei Lui. Şi toţi cîţi se atingeau de El, erau tămăduiţi.
Marcu 16
14 În sfîrşit, S'a arătat celor unsprezece, cînd şedeau la masă; şi i -a mustrat pentru necredinţa şi împietrirea inimii lor, pentru că nu crezuseră pe cei ce -L văzuseră înviat.
15 Apoi le -a zis: ,,Duceţi-vă în toată lumea, şi propovăduiţi Evanghelia la orice făptură.
16 Cine va crede şi se va boteza, va fi mîntuit; dar cine nu va crede, va fi osîndit.
17 Iată semnele cari vor însoţi pe cei ce vor crede: în Numele Meu vor scoate draci; vor vorbi în limbi noi;
18 vor lua în mînă şerpi; dacă vor bea ceva de moarte, nu -i va vătăma; îşi vor pune mînile peste bolnavi, şi bolnavii se vor însănătoşa.
Faptele apostolilor 3
1 Petru şi Ioan se suiau împreună la Templu, la ceasul rugăciunii: era ceasul al nouălea.
2 Acolo era un om olog din naştere, care era dus şi pus în toate zilele la poarta Templului, numită ,,Frumoasă``, ca să ceară de milă dela cei ce intrau în Templu.
3 Omul acesta, cînd a văzut pe Petru şi pe Ioan că voiau să intre în Templu, le -a cerut milostenie.
4 Petru, ca şi Ioan, s'a uitat ţintă la el, şi a zis: ,,Uită-te la noi!``
5 Şi el se uita la ei cu luare aminte, şi aştepta să capete ceva dela ei.
6 Atunci Petru i -a zis: ,,Argint şi aur, n'am; dar ce am, îţi dau: În Numele lui Isus Hristos din Nazaret, scoală-te şi umblă!``
7 L -a apucat de mîna dreaptă, şi l -a ridicat în sus. Îndată i s'au întărit tălpile şi glesnele;
Faptele apostolilor 5
12 Prin mînile apostolilor se făceau multe semne şi minuni în norod. Toţi stăteau împreună în pridvorul lui Solomon,
13 şi niciunul din ceilalţi nu cuteza să se lipească de ei; dar norodul îi lăuda în gura mare.
14 Numărul celor ce credeau în Domnul, bărbaţi şi femei, se mărea tot mai mult;
15 pînă acolo că scoteau pe bolnavi chiar pe uliţe, şi îi puneau pe paturi şi pe aşternuturi, pentru ca, atunci cînd va trece Petru, măcar umbra lui să treacă peste vreunul din ei.
16 Mulţimea, deasemenea, alerga la Ierusalim, din cetăţile vecine, şi aducea pe cei bolnavi şi pe cei chinuiţi de duhuri necurate: şi toţi se vindecau.
Faptele apostolilor 8
12 Dar cînd au crezut pe Filip, care propovăduia Evanghelia Împărăţiei lui Dumnezeu şi a Numelui lui Isus Hristos, au fost botezaţi, atît bărbaţi cît şi femei.
13 Chiar Simon a crezut; şi dupăce a fost botezat, nu se mai despărţea de Filip, şi privea cu uimire minunile şi semnele mari cari se făceau.
14 Apostolii, cari erau în Ierusalim, cînd au auzit că Samaria a primit Cuvîntul lui Dumnezeu, au trimes la ei pe Petru şi pe Ioan.
15 Aceştia au venit la Samariteni, şi s'au rugat pentru ei, ca să primească Duhul Sfînt.
16 Căci nu Se pogorîse încă peste niciunul din ei, ci fuseseră numai botezaţi în Numele Domnului Isus.
17 Atunci Petru şi Ioan au pus mînile peste ei, şi aceia au primit Duhul Sfînt.
Faptele apostolilor 19
1 Pe cînd era Apolo în Corint, Pavel, dupăce a trecut prin ţinuturile de sus ale Asiei, a ajuns la Efes. Aici a întîlnit pe cîţiva ucenici,
2 şi le -a zis: ,,Aţi primit voi Duhul Sfînt cînd aţi crezut?`` Ei i-au răspuns: ,,Nici n'am auzit măcar că a fost dat un Duh Sfînt.
``3 Dar cu ce botez aţi fost botezaţi?`` le -a zis el. Şi ei au răspuns: ,,Cu botezul lui Ioan.
``4 Atunci Pavel a zis: ,,Ioan a botezat cu botezul pocăinţei, şi spunea norodului să creadă în Celce venea după el, adică în Isus.``
5 Cînd au auzit ei aceste vorbe, au fost botezaţi în Numele Domnului Isus.
6 Cînd şi -a pus Pavel mînile peste ei, Duhul Sfînt S'a pogorît peste ei, şi vorbeau în alte limbi, şi prooroceau.
Faptele apostolilor 19
11 Şi Dumnezeu făcea minuni nemaipomenite prin mînile lui Pavel;
12 pînă acolo că peste cei bolnavi se puneau basmale sau şorţuri, cari fuseseră atinse de trupul lui, şi -i lăsau boalele, şi ieşeau afară din ei duhurile rele.

14 Nu fi nepăsător de darul care este în tine, care ţi -a fost dat prin proorocie, cu punerea mînilor de către ceata presbiterilor (Sau: bătrîni.).

6 De aceea îţi aduc aminte să înflăcărezi darul lui Dumnezeu, care este în tine prin punerea mînilor mele.
Faptele apostolilor 6
1 În zilele acelea, cînd s'a înmulţit numărul ucenicilor, Evreii cari vorbeau greceşte, cîrteau împotriva Evreilor, pentrucă văduvele lor erau trecute cu vederea la împărţeala ajutoarelor de toate zilele.
2 Cei doisprezece au adunat mulţimea ucenicilor, şi au zis: ,,Nu este potrivit pentru noi să lăsăm Cuvîntul lui Dumnezeu ca să slujim la mese.
3 Deaceea, fraţilor, alegeţi dintre voi şapte bărbaţi, vorbiţi de bine, plini de Duhul Sfînt şi înţelepciune, pe cari îi vom pune la slujba aceasta.
4 Iar noi vom stărui necurmat în rugăciune şi în propovăduirea Cuvîntului.``
5 Vorbirea aceasta a plăcut întregei adunări. Au ales pe Ştefan, bărbat plin de credinţă şi de Duhul Sfînt, pe Filip, pe Prohor, pe Nicanor, pe Timon, pe Parmena şi pe Nicolae, un prozelit din Antiohia.
6 I-au adus înaintea apostolilor, cari, după ce s-au rugat, şi-au pus mînile peste ei.

3 Atunci, după ce au postit şi s'au rugat, şi-au pus mînile peste ei, şi i-au lăsat să plece.

10 În Damasc era un ucenic numit Anania. Domnul i -a zis într'o vedenie: ,,Anania!`` ,,Iată-mă Doamne,`` a răspuns el.
11 Şi Domnul i -a zis: ,,Scoală-te, du-te pe uliţa care se cheamă ,Dreaptă,` şi caută în casa lui Iuda pe unul zis Saul, un om din Tars. Căci iată, el se roagă;
12 şi a văzut în vedenie pe un om, numit Anania, intrînd la el, şi punîndu-şi mînile peste el, ca să-şi capete iarăş vederea.``
13 ,,Doamne,`` a răspuns Anania, ,,am auzit dela mulţi despre toate relele, pe cari le -a făcut omul acesta sfinţilor Tăi în Ierusalim;
14 ba şi aici are puteri din partea preoţilor celor mai de seamă, ca să lege pe toţi cari cheamă Numele Tău.
15 Dar Domnul i -a zis: ,,Du-te, căci el este un vas, pe care l-am ales, ca să ducă Numele Meu înaintea Nemurilor, înaintea împăraţilor, şi înaintea fiilor lui Israel;
16 şi îi voi arăta tot ce trebuie să sufere pentru Numele Meu.``
17 Anania a plecat; şi, după ce a intrat în casă, a pus mînile peste Saul, şi a zis: ,,Frate Saule, Domnul Isus, care ţi S'a arătat pe drumul pe care veneai, m'a trimes ca să capeţi vederea, şi să te umpli de Duhul Sfînt.``
18 Chiar în clipa aceea, au căzut de pe ochii lui un fel de solzi; şi el şi -a căpătat iarăş vederea. Apoi s'a sculat, şi a fost botezat.

8 Tatăl lui Publius zăcea atunci în pat, bolnav de friguri şi de urdinare. Pavel s'a dus la el, s'a rugat, a pus mînile peste el, şi l -a vindecat.

D. LAYING ON OF HANDS
Jesus and the apostles are our examples for the doctrine of laying on of hands. The laying on of hands may produce healing, raising of the dead, baptism of the Holy Ghost, blessing, impartation of spiritual gifts, ordaining of deacons, and done with fasting. Even just touch may bring healing. But we are to lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

4 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Acts 5
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Acts 19
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 19
11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Acts 6
1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
Acts 13
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
Acts 9
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
Acts 28
8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
1 Timothy 5
22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
