C. LA DOCTRINA DE BAUTISMOS
Hay cinco bautismos en el Nuevo Testamento; el bautismo de arrepentimiento de Juan, el bautismo de agua, el bautismo de los muertos, el bautismo en el Espíritu Santo y el bautismo de sufrimiento. El bautismo de arrepentimiento de Juan ya no es aplicable.
1. EL BAUTISMO DE ARREPENTIMIENTO DE JUAN
El bautismo de Juan fue el bautismo de arrepentimiento, para que ellos creyeran en Él que vendría después de Juan, Jesucristo. Ya no es aplicable, el Apóstol Pablo probó cuando él conoció aquellos que tenían el bautismo de Juan, él los bautizó en el nombre del Señor Jesús.
Marcos 1
4 Bautizaba Juan en el desierto y predicaba el bautismo de arrepentimiento para perdón de pecados.
5 Acudía a él toda la provincia de Judea y todos los de Jerusalén, y eran bautizados por él en el río Jordán, confesando sus pecados.
Hechos 19
1Aconteció que entre tanto que Apolos estaba en Corinto, Pablo, después de recorrer las regiones superiores, vino a Éfeso, y hallando a ciertos discípulos,
2 les preguntó: —¿Recibisteis el Espíritu Santo cuando creísteis?
Ellos le dijeron:—Ni siquiera habíamos oído que hubiera Espíritu Santo.
3 Entonces dijo:—¿En qué, pues, fuisteis bautizados?
Ellos dijeron:—En el bautismo de Juan.
4 Dijo Pablo:—Juan bautizó con bautismo de arrepentimiento, diciendo al pueblo que creyeran en aquel que vendría después de él, esto es, en Jesús el Cristo.
5 Cuando oyeron esto, fueron bautizados en el nombre del Señor Jesús.
6 Y habiéndoles impuesto Pablo las manos, vino sobre ellos el Espíritu Santo; y hablaban en lenguas y profetizaban.
7 Eran entre todos unos doce hombres.
2. EL BAUTISMO DE AGUA
El Bautismo en agua es solo por inmersión. Es un mandamiento directo de nuestro Señor y es solo para los creyentes. Somos bautizados en la muerte de Jesucristo, nuestro viejo hombre es crucificado con Él, para que el cuerpo de pecado sea destruido, así como el Cristo fue resucitado de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así es como debemos caminar en la nueva vida. Con respecto a la administración del bautismo de agua, se debe establecer que ellos “nacen de nuevo” o “son salvados”.
Hay dos modos en las escrituras del bautismo de agua. Mateo 28, ellos fueron bautizados en el nombre del Padre, Hijo y en el Espíritu Santo. En el libro de los Hechos, ellos son bautizados “en el nombre de Jesús “. Doyle Davidson

Romanos 6
¿Qué, pues, diremos? ¿Perseveraremos en el pecado para que la gracia abunde?

7 porque, el que ha muerto ha sido justificado del pecado.
8 Y si morimos con Cristo, creemos que también viviremos con él,
9 y sabemos que Cristo, habiendo resucitado de los muertos, ya no muere; la muerte no se enseñorea más de él.
10 En cuanto murió, al pecado murió una vez por todas; pero en cuanto vive, para Dios vive.
11 Así también vosotros consideraos muertos al pecado, pero vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús, Señor nuestro.
Colosenses 2
12 Con él fuisteis sepultados en el bautismo, y en él fuisteis también resucitados por la fe en el poder de Dios que lo levantó de los muertos.
Hechos 8
36 Yendo por el camino llegaron a un lugar donde había agua, y dijo el eunuco:—Aquí hay agua, ¿qué impide que yo sea bautizado?
37 Felipe dijo:—Si crees de todo corazón, bien puedes.Él respondiendo, dijo:—Creo que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios.
38 Mandó parar el carro; y descendieron ambos al agua, Felipe y el eunuco, y lo bautizó.
39 Cuando subieron del agua, el Espíritu del Señor arrebató a Felipe y el eunuco no lo vio más; y siguió gozoso su camino.
Hechos 10
47 Entonces respondió Pedro:—¿Puede acaso alguno impedir el agua, para que no sean bautizados estos que han recibido el Espíritu Santo lo mismo que nosotros?
48 Y mandó bautizarlos en el nombre del Señor Jesús. Entonces le rogaron que se quedara por algunos días.

19 Por tanto, id y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo,

16 pues aún no había descendido sobre ninguno de ellos, sino que solamente habían sido bautizados en el nombre de Jesús
3. EL BAUTISMO DE LOS MUERTOS
El Apóstol Pablo escribe de su bautismo por los muertos. En diciembre de 2010 empezamos a hacer esto por aquellos que murieron en la fe, pero nunca fueron bautizados en agua. Fue dirigido con estas palabras, “Te bautizo en el nombre de Jesús por los muertos”.
1 Corintios 15
29 De otro modo, ¿qué harán los que se bautizan por los muertos, si de ninguna manera los muertos resucitan?
Hebreos 11
40 porque Dios tenía reservado algo mejor para nosotros, para que no fueran ellos perfeccionados aparte de nosotros.
C. DOCTRINE OF BAPTISMS
There are five baptisms in the New Testament; John’s baptism of repentance, water baptism, baptism for the dead, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and baptism of suffering. John’s baptism of repentance is no longer applicable.
1. JOHN’S BAPTISM OF REPENTANCE
The baptism of John was a baptism of repentance, that they should believe on him which should come after John, Christ Jesus. It is no longer applicable, the Apostle Paul proving that when he met those that had John’s baptism, he baptized them in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Mark 1
4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
Acts 19
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve.
2. WATER BAPTISM
Baptism in water is by immersion only. It is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. We are baptized into the death of Jesus Christ, our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin is destroyed, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Regarding administering water baptism, it must be established that they are “born again” or “saved.”
There are two ways in scripture to baptize in water. Matthew 28, they are baptized in the name of the Father, Son and of the Holy Ghost. In the book of Acts, they are baptized in the name of Jesus. I personally baptize them like they did in the book of Acts, “in the name of Jesus”. Doyle Davidson

14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Colossians 2
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Acts 8
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
Acts 10
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Matthew 28
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Acts 2
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 8
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
3. BAPTISM FOR THE DEAD
The Apostle Paul writes of their baptizing for the dead. In December of 2010 we began to do this for those who died in faith but were never baptized in water. It was administered with these words, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus for the dead.”
I Corinthians 15
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
Hebrews 11
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
