Yesterday I was reading the psalms, and I was almost to the end when the spirit of God started dealing with some rejection in my heart. Before, it would take me a little while to realize what was going on, but when certain feelings started to manifest, I knew right then that I needed to continue to read and not yield to the feelings. It only took a few minutes and I overcame some more of the rejected old man.
Early this morning I had a dream, and for ones that know me, know that I don’t have many dreams, but this one was about a family member that I needed to forgive. God brought it up about a month ago, and I started forgiving this person, but when it came up again this morning I knew there was still more unforgiveness. So I began to ask for more grace to completely forgive and I started breaking through about 30 minutes ago.
As I was praying, I remembered Doyle and several others speaking about how unforgiveness will keep back the good things God has for you, it will keep back the promises God has for you. Not only that, you can’t be used by God much to minister, if you have all that bitterness and hate in your heart. Unforgiveness will also take away your joy.
As I have exercised myself to forgive and then the joy comes, it has gotten easier and easier to do so.
Some may say, “Well this person did this to me and I can’t forgive them”. “Well, what did you do to someone else, have you been a perfect little sweetie pie saint”?
Romans 12:14
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
I've experienced when obeying these scriptures, it not only deals with the people you are blessing, it will also deal with any unforgiveness, bitterness or pride you may have in your heart.
Matthew 6:14-15 says,
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:24-26 says,
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Luke 23:33-34 says,
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Remember, Jesus forgave all, and he never sinned. He only obeyed the Father. So we must definitely do the same if we want to power of God to manifest fully in our lives.
God bless,
