Capítulo 5
Escuchando con Fe
En Gálatas 3:2, Pablo recordó a los Gálatas como ellos recibieron el Espíritu Santo:
2 Esto sólo quiero saber de vosotros: ¿Recibisteis el Espíritu por las obras de la Ley o por el escuchar con fe?
¿Recibiste el Espíritu Santo por sentarte en tus bancas de la iglesia, diciendo: “No codiciarás; Recuerda el día de reposo (sábado) y mantenlo santificado; No matarás; No hurtarás; No cometerás adulterio; ¿No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí?”
¿Obtuviste el Espíritu Santo por las obras de la ley? Por supuesto que no. Tú recibiste el Espíritu Santo escuchando con fe.
Tú tal vez dices: “Bien Doyle, ¿Tú me estás diciendo que nosotros podemos desobedecer la ley?” No, yo no te estoy diciendo eso. Te estoy diciendo que si tú caminas en el Espíritu, tú no vas a cumplir con los deseos de la carne. Mira en Gálatas 5:16 y Romanos 8:1 y 8:4 por ti mismo.
Continuemos con Gálatas 3:3:
3 ¿Tan insensatos sois? Habiendo comenzado por el Espíritu, ¿ahora vais a acabar por la carne?
La ley opera en la carne. El Espíritu Santo viene por fe.
Mirar en el verso 4:
4 ¿Tantas cosas habéis padecido en vano? Si es que realmente fue en vano.
“Si es que realmente fue en vano”. Gracias a Dios, todavía hay una oportunidad. Todavía hay esperanza. Evangelistas de televisión y predicadores religiosos en los Estados Unidos de América nos han enseñado desde nuestra juventud, diciendo “¡No harás eso, no harás aquello!” Bueno, mi amigo, “No harás eso” no ha hecho nada más que traer a esta nación a cautiverio y nos hace cometer más pecado.
El hecho es, traerte al conocimiento del pecado es exactamente lo que la ley estaba destinada a hacer. Si tú conocieras la Biblia, tú sabrías que enseñar a la gente la ley, enseñarles “No harás eso”, hace que ellos pequen más. Lee Romanos capítulo 7 por ti mismo.
Gracias a Dios que nosotros podemos arrepentirnos. Gracias a Dios que, si estamos confundidos, podemos dar la vuelta y seguir. Eso es lo que yo estoy enseñándote.
Haciendo Maravillas (Milagros)
El Espíritu Santo viene por oír con fe. Así que haciendo maravillas (milagros). En Gálatas 3:5, Pablo preguntó:
5 aquel, pues, que os da el Espíritu y hace maravillas entre vosotros, ¿lo hace por las obras de la Ley o por el oír con fe?
La respuesta es obvia, por oír con fe. Todo lo que tienes que hacer, es decir: “Gracias Jesús por hacer maravillas (milagros)”, y Él hará milagros todo el tiempo. Ese es el modo que Jesús trabaja.
Una vez, Jesús me dijo: “Yo quiero que veas como alimenté a cuatro y cinco mil personas”. Yo vi en Mateo capítulos 14 y 15 que Él tomó el pescado y los panes, levantó los ojos al cielo, y los bendijo y dio gracias, entonces él los dividió.
Yo dije: “¿Por qué no nos enseñaste el resto de tú oración? ¿Por qué no registraste la oración que oraste?” No pude creer que alguien pudiera tomar un pedazo de pescado, levantar la vista y decir: “Gracias, Padre” y empezar a alimentar a la gente.
Yo era un hipócrita cuanto se trataba de orar. Pensé que necesitabas hablar al menos 20 palabras. Jesús solamente dijo: “Gracias Padre” y empezó a alimentar a la gente.
He aprendido desde entonces. Yo digo: “Gracias Padre, por hacer milagros. Gracias por sanidad. Gracias por el Espíritu Santo. Gracias por prosperidad. Gracias por el perdón”. Esa es mi oración. Ya no tengo oraciones largas. Solamente doy gracias a Dios. ¿Qué es lo que pasa? Mis oraciones funcionan. Y eso es lo que Jesús está diciendo aquí.
¿Alguna vez has salido y has dicho: “Bien, hoy yo quiero que Jesús sane” y tú predicas la ley, tú predicas: “Yo quiero que tú no cometas adulterio; quiero que tú no hurtes; quiero que tú no des falso testimonio; quiero que no codicies; quiero que no tengas dioses ajenos delante de ti” y de repente la gente fue sanada? ¿Ha pasado esto? ¡No! No ha pasado.
Pero has puesto las manos en los enfermos y dices: “¿Gracias Dios que por tus llagas he sido sanado” y la gente fue sanada? ¿Ellos sanaron cuando hiciste eso? ¡Sí, absolutamente! ¿Tú sabes por qué? Porque sanidad está en el evangelio y porque el evangelio trae fe. Y sin fe, es imposible agradar a Dios.
La gente religiosa tiene muchas cosas que tú no puedes hacer, si quieres que Dios te bendiga. “Tú no puedes hacer esto. Tú no puedes hacer aquello. Es mejor que no hagas esto. Si tú haces esto vas a enfermarte. Si tú haces eso vas a morir. A Dios no le vas a gustar. Él te va a cortar”. Ellos tienen más de “No harás…” de lo que puedas imaginar o pensar.
Jesús alimentó a 5000 hombres simplemente diciendo: “Gracias”. Cuando me di cuenta de eso, dije: “Es fácil de recordar, Gracias, que recordar todos los: No harás…”. Así que tomé el camino fácil. Pero créeme, no fue fácil sacarme lo religioso.

Chapter 5
Hearing of Faith
In Galatians 3:2, Paul reminded the Galatians how they received the Holy Spirit:
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Did you receive the Holy Spirit by sitting in your church pews, saying, "Thou shall not covet; Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy; Thou shall not murder; Thou shall not steal; Thou shall not commit adultery; Thou shall have no other gods before me"?
Did you get the Holy Spirit by the works of the law? Of course not. You received the Holy Spirit by the hearing of faith.
You may say, "Well, Doyle, are you saying that we can disobey the law?" No, I am not telling you that. I am telling you that if you walk in the Spirit, you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Look at Galatians 5:16 and Romans 8:1 and 8:4 for yourself.
Continue with Galatians 3:3:
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
The law operates in the flesh. The Holy Spirit comes through faith.
Look at verse 4:
Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
"If it be yet in vain." Thank God, there is still a chance. There is still hope. Religious televangelists and preachers in the United States of America taught you and me from our youth, saying "Thou shall not, thou shall not"! Well, my friend, "Thou shall not" has done nothing but bring this nation into bondage and caused us to commit more sin.
The fact is, bringing you to a knowledge of sin is exactly what the law was intended to do. If you knew the Bible, you would know that to teach people the law--to teach them "Thou shall not"--makes them sin more. Read Romans chapter 7 for yourself.
Thank God that we can repent. Thank God that if we are confused, we can turn around and go on. That is what I am teaching you.
Working of Miracles
The Holy Spirit comes by the hearing of faith. So, does the working of miracles. In Galatians 3:5, Paul asked:
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
The answer is obvious--by hearing of faith. All you have to do is say, "Thank you, Jesus, for working miracles," and He works miracles every time. That is the way Jesus works.
One time, Jesus said to me, "I want you to see how I fed four and five thousand people." I saw in Matthew chapters 14 and 15 that He took the fish and the loaves, looked up and blessed them and gave thanks, and then He divided them.
I said, "Why didn't you show us the rest of your prayer? Why didn't you record the prayer you prayed?" I could not believe that anyone could take a piece of fish, look up and say, "Thank you, Father," and start feeding people.
I was a hypocrite when it came to praying. I thought that you needed to speak at least 20 words. Jesus just said, "Thank you, Father," and started feeding the people.
I have learned since then. I say, "Thank you, Father, for working miracles. Thank you for healing. Thank you for the Holy Spirit. Thank you for prosperity. Thank you for forgiveness." That is my prayer. I do not have long prayers anymore. I just thank God. What happens? My prayers work. And that is what Jesus is saying here.
Have you ever gone out and said, "Well, today I want Jesus to heal," and you preach the law--you preach, "I want you not to commit adultery; I want you not to steal; I want you not to bear false witness; I want you not to covet; I want you not to have any other gods before you," and all of a sudden people were healed? Has that ever happened? No! It has not.
But have you ever laid hands on the sick and said, "Thank God that with His stripes, I was healed," and people were healed? Did they get healed when you did that? Yes, absolutely! Do you know why? Because healing is in the gospel and because the gospel brings faith. And without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Religious people have so many things that you cannot do if you want God to bless you. "You cannot do this. You cannot do that. You better not do this. If you do this you are going to get sick. If you do that you are going to die. God won't like you. He will cut you off." They have more "Thou shall not's" than you can think of.
Jesus fed 5000 men by simply saying, "Thank you." When I realized that, I said, "It is easier to remember _Thank you_ than it is to remember all the _Thou shall not's_." So, I took the easy way out. But believe me, it was not easy to get the religion out of me.
