El Evangelio Con Poder
En este capítulo, vamos a echar un vistazo más cercano al poder de Dios que siempre está asociado con el evangelio del reino. Mira en 1 Corintios 4:18-20. Pablo dice, en el verso 18:
18 Algunos están envanecidos, como si yo nunca hubiera de ir a vosotros.
¿Te importaría adivinar que quiere decir "envanecidos"? ¿La palabra "envanecer" podría significar "orgullo"?
Los versos 19 y 20 dicen:
19 Pero iré pronto a visitaros, si el Señor quiere, y conoceré, no las palabras, sino el poder de los que andan envanecidos,
20 pues el reino de Dios no consiste en palabras, sino en poder.
Pablo dijo que cuando vaya, él no conocerá a los predicadores que solamente enseñan la palabra. Ellos están envanecidos. Por el contrario, él sabrá quienes demuestran el poder de Dios.
El reino de Dios no es en palabra, es con poder. Cuando Dios me enseñó estos tres versos hace como 14 años, yo pude claramente separar esos ministerios quienes estaban "envanecidos" de los ministerios quienes demuestran el poder de Dios.
Marcos 1:14 dice:
14 Después que Juan fue encarcelado, Jesús fue a Galilea predicando el evangelio del reino de Dios.
Mira en este verso en conjunto con 1 Corintias 4:18-20. Jesús vino a Galilea publicando el evangelio, Su muerte, entierro y resurrección. ¿Qué es lo que publicó? Él publicó el poder de Dios. De acuerdo a 1 Corintios 4:18-20, cualquier ministerio que no demuestra el poder de Dios esta "envanecido".
En los Estados Unidos, hay predicadores que se levantan día tras día y tratan de justificarse, porque no oran por los enfermos y porque no demuestran el poder. Ellos dicen: "Dios me ha llamado como a un maestro". Yo conozco a estos ministros por nombre, pero no quiero avergonzarlos. Los quiero suficientemente para mostrar 1Corintios 4:18-20.
Además, yo oro para que Dios los dirija al arrepentimiento. Si tú piensas que Dios te llamó para enseñar la Palabra de Dios sin poder, tú estás sumamente engañado. Satanás te ha engañado.
Cuando Dios empezó a guiarme para demostrar Su poder, yo no quería. Yo no quería asociarme con gente que echa fuera demonios, sana los enfermos y habla en lenguas. No me molestaba ir a la iglesia con la gente que habla en lenguas, siempre y cuando ellos no supieran que yo no. Sin embargo, Dios me habló lo siguiente: "si tú me amas, tú guardaras mis palabras".
En dos ocasiones, oí a un hombre, quien es considerado uno de los líderes evangelistas en los Estados Unidos de América hacer las siguientes declaraciones públicas: "No soy un principiante. Puedo contar con 5 dedos todos los milagros que Dios ha hecho en este ministerio en todos mis años".
Él también dijo: " Dios no hace crecer las piernas; Dios no llena de dientes y Dios no hace otros milagros que oigo describir".
La gente acude en masas para oír a este predicador. Tú puedes determinar por ti mismo si él está obedeciendo a Dios o no. Tengo suficiente valor para decirte que una persona que no está demostrando el poder de Dios, simplemente no sigue al Espíritu de Dios. Yo no estoy preocupado si me llamas crítico o juzgo. (Si eso es lo que crees, te digo que estás engañado . Eso es lo que Jesús te dice también).
Jesús vino a publicar el evangelio, la muerte, el entierro y la resurrección del reino de Dios, con poder. El reino de Dios no es en palabra, es con poder. En los Estados Unidos, los predicadores dicen: "Bueno, mis palabras tienen poder. Yo prediqué la Palabra y ahora tengo que irme. Dios demostrará Su poder mientras me voy". Eso pasa todo el tiempo.
¿Sabes algo? Dios demostrará Su poder. Gracias a Dios, Él lo hará. Si tienes una gota de fe y puedes creer cualquier Palabra, Dios demostrará Su poder por ti.
Yo crecí escuchando y viendo estos ministerios. He aceptado todo, lo que quise recibir de Dios. Yo no recibí mi bendición por medio de estos de la imposición de manos en mi de parte de los predicadores. Yo simplemente tomé la Palabra y empecé a creerla. Esa es la única razón por la que algunos de nosotros hemos surgido del movimiento Carismático con poca fe y poco poder.
Ahora Dios está diciendo: "Yo quiero mostrar a esta gente, ha sido llegar donde estás. Quiero que los ames. No quiero que los olvides. No quiero que vengas a ser tan pretencioso que te olvides de tus raíces".
Si cada Cristiano recordara de sus pequeños inicios, él continuaría haciendo a la gente Cristianos. Cada uno quiere ser el más grande que el otro. Eso es todo lo que pensamos. Cuando tenemos grandes multitudes, pensamos que Dios nos esta aprobando nuestro ministerio.
¿Cómo Dios aprobó el ministerio de Jesús? El Apóstol Pedro nos los dice en Hechos 2:22:
22 »Israelitas, oíd estas palabras: Jesús nazareno, varón aprobado por Dios entre vosotros con las maravillas, prodigios y señales que Dios hizo entre vosotros por medio de él, como vosotros mismos sabéis
Jesús fue aprobado por Dios a través de las maravillas, prodigios y señales. Vira de cerca lo que está pasando en la iglesia a la que asistes. ¿El evangelio es predicado? ¿Hay algún poder demostrado? I Juan 4:1 dice probar los espíritus si son de Dios.
Lee Marcos 16:17 y 18. Las señales descritas en estos versos siguen la predicación del evangelio. El poder de Dios será demostrado. Si el poder de Dios no está ocurriendo en tu iglesia, pregunta a Dios qué quiere Él que tú hagas. Tú eres su oveja y oirás Su voz.

The Gospel With Power
In this chapter, we are going to take a closer look at the power of God that is always associated with the gospel of the kingdom. Look at I Corinthians 4:18-20. Paul says, in verse 18:
Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
Would you care to guess what “puffed up” means? Could the words “puffed up” mean “pride”?
Verses 19 and 20 say:
But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power (v.19).
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power (v.20).
Paul said that when he came, he would not know the preachers that only taught the word. They are puffed up. Rather, he said that he would know those that demonstrated the power of God.
The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. When God showed me these three verses about 14 years ago, I could distinctly separate those ministers who were “puffed up” from those ministers who demonstrated the power of God.
Mark 1:14 says:
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.
Look at this verse along with I Corinthians 4:18-20. Jesus came into Galilee publishing the gospel — His death, burial, and resurrection. What did He publish? He published the power of God. According to I Corinthians 4:18-20, any minister who does not demonstrate the power of God is “puffed up.”
In the United States, there are preachers who stand up day after day and try to justify why they do not pray for the sick and why they demonstrate no power. They say, “God has called me as a teacher.” I know these ministers by name, but I do not want to embarrass them. I love them enough to point out I Corinthians 4:18-20.
Further, I pray that God will lead them to repent. If you think God has called you to teach the Word of God with no power, you are mightily deceived. Satan has misled you.
When God started leading me to demonstrate His power, I did not want to. I did not want to be associated with people who cast out devils, healed the sick, and spoke in tongues. I did not mind going to church with people who spoke in tongues as long as they did not know that I did. However, God spoke the following to me: “If you love me, you will keep my words.”
On two occasions, I heard a man who is considered to be one of the leading evangelists in the United States of America make the following public statement: “I am not a novice. I can count on five fingers all of the miracles that God has done in this ministry in all my years.”
He also said, “God does not grow out legs; God does not fill teeth; and God does not do other miracles that I hear people describe.”
People flock by the thousands to listen to that man preach. You can determine for yourself whether or not he is obeying God. I have enough courage to tell you that a person who is not demonstrating God’s power is simply not following the Spirit of God. I am not concerned if you call me critical or judgmental. (If that is what you believe, I call you deceived. That is what Jesus calls you, too.)
Jesus came publishing the gospel — the death, burial, and resurrection of the kingdom of God — with power. The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. In the United States, preachers say, “Well, my words have power. I preached the Word, and now I have to go. God will demonstrate His power as I am leaving.” That happens all of the time.
Do you know something? God will demonstrate His power. Thank God, He will. If you have a drop of faith and can believe any of the Word, God will demonstrate His power for you.
I grew up listening to and watching these ministers. I received everything I wanted to receive from God. I did not receive my blessing by having these preachers lay their hands on me, either. I simply took the Word and started believing it. That is the only reason some of us have emerged from the Charismatic movement with a little faith and a little power.
Now, God is saying, “I want you to show these people what a fight it was to get where you are. I want you to love them. I do not want you to forget them. I do not want you to become so large that you forget your roots.”
If every Christian would remember his small beginnings, he would continue to make people Christians. Everyone wants to be the biggest. That is all we think. When we have large crowds, we think God is approving our ministry.
How did God approve the ministry of Jesus? The Apostle Peter tells us in Acts 2:22:
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.
Jesus was approved of God by miracles and wonders and signs. Take a close look at what is happening in the church you attend. Is the gospel being preached? Is there any power demonstrated? I John 4:1 says to try the spirits and see if they are of God.
Read Mark 16:17 and 18. The signs described in those verses will follow the preaching of the gospel. The power of God will be demonstrated. If the power of God is not occurring in your church, ask God what He would have you do. You are His sheep, and you hear His voice.
